I just recently gave this movie a chance. I love it. Very underrated, and scary, IMO.
"Based on the novel by Peter Straub, this movie concerns four successful elderly gentlemen, members of the Chowder Society, who share a gruesome, 50-year old secret. When one of Edward Wanderley's twin sons dies in a bizarre accident, the group begins to see a pattern of frightening events developing."

I've loved this movie for years upon years. Sorely underrated. I agree 100%. Tony, you can watch it instantly on NetFlix, I'm assuming you can stream it from there as well. Keep in mind, this month the rates change on NetFlix. If you stream and get DVDs your bill will double as they are charging for each now separately. We're ditching the streaming and just getting DVDs as we rarely stream anything anyway.

I don't know about streaming. But you can always buy it. Amazon's movies tend to be ridiculously cheap compared to retail pricing at Target, Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Not a Netflix fan, they put my beloved Hollywood Video out of business

Don't know. I guess now that they've put the video stores out of business, they think they can jack people. Still, not a bad deal. All the DVDs you can watch in a month for $7.99.

That's not bad at all. I miss the old mom and pop video store we had here. But, NetFlix is pretty much hassle free, add the movie it's there.

I always hated Blockbuster. They edited their films and only offered up popular stuff. When I lived in Virgina there was a place called Video World that had all kinds of crazy action and horror films. I miss those days.
Since you recommended this, I'll definitely give it a watch.

I will warn you that it's more of a Victorian styled ghost movie, and can take a bit to get going. But, it is good. Has become a favorite of mine.

Another one of my old standards - I loved this movie. Classic ghost tale done very stylishly and well acted by a stellar cast of old Hollywood silver screen stars.
I just watched it again a couple of months ago on Youtube - it's listed as gs1 - gs12 (you won't find it under Ghost Story). You have to sign in to watch it because it contains some adult content, but all 12 parts are there. I just checked today to make sure none of it is missing (don't you hate when that happens). The best way to view it is to go right to the poster's channel:
