The original from 1976, another novel by Stephen King turned into a movie, and it's a pretty good one. Great movie actually. Carrie is not popular at all, and her mother is a bible thumping fruitcake. When Carrie realizes she has telekinetic powers, the people that picked on her and her mom are in for a world of hurt. The last scene in the movie scared me so bad as a kid I had nightmares for weeks. Good watch. I check it out any time it's on.

I feel so bad that I keep saying this about old horror films, but this one to me is a total bore. I caught this flick on IFC near the end and it still felt like it dragged on forever.
I remember renting it when I was younger and really starting to get into horror and it didn't really do it for me then either. This is one of those movies that is famous for 1 scene and nothing else.

I think there are a bunch of great scenes in this movie. I just saw it, and it flew for me. The shower scene is great, really puts into perspective how naive Carrie was and how her mother tried to keep her sheltered and under thumb. The prom scene was awesome, when her true powers are unleashed. Then her mom trying to kill her and Carrie turning her powers on her.
The scene that scared me as a kid was the last scene when the lone survivor of the prom is dreaming and visiting Carrie's grave and...well, I won't spoil it for anyone that hasn't seen it. I think it's a really solid flick, and I watch it anytime it's on. One of my favorites.

At least it was better than The Rage: Carrie 2. Talk about a sequel that never needed to be made!

This was a good movie, but waaayyy better as a book. But, when it comes to this movie, nothin is better than tha og. I watched tha remake like 2 days ago, and it reminded me why remakes usually suck ass. I couldnt stand how they broke it down every few scenes into a police investigation. Also, they changed tha end and made it weird, with her and tha black chick starin at her grave and then it ends. gorepolice I completely agree. There was no point in makin that movie. Matter of fact, if I'm not mistaken it was really just Carrie with a few changes, basically just like tha remake, which also never shouldve been made, atleast not wit all tha changes.

Not a fan of the re-make of Carrie, or the sequel...whatever it was. But, I'll still say the original stands the test of time. Sure it's dated, but the concept and execution were and are great. A lot of King's work that is made into a movie suffers from some dragging moments, but I honestly didn't get that with this one. I do agree that the book is better, as with most of his work that's been screenplayed, but still a favorite of mine. Just the pure innocence Carrie has at the beginning to the killer she is forced into being at the end. Good stuff.

Yeah, tha og stands tha test of time. If they had just left it at that or maybe only digitally remastered it when they brought it back, then it would've been cool.
Matter of fact, I'ma probly watch it tonight on YouTube.
