After serving 1 year in jail, Terry Hawkins decides to repay the society by making some snuff-films. Four people are captured, tied up and held as material for his project. One by one they are killed in scenes for the camera.
Just finished watching this movie and I'm not entirely sure what to think of it. I won't say I hated it, but it wasn't exactly good either.
The acting, filming and direction of the first 2/3 of the movie are complete garbage, but the last 25 or so minutes is extremely intense. The soundtrack is excellent as well, providing a very creepy atmosphere.
According to rumors, the director had $3,800 for the budget, but only $800 went into the film and the rest was spent on drugs. Looking at how this turned out, I can honestly believe that to be true.
Not sure I would recommend this to anyone, but for the last 25 minutes alone I'll probably be adding it to my collection.

I apologize in advance. It just seems like the type of movie that would fit perfectly in my collection. Wouldn't watch it often, but I would definitely enjoying the final act of the movie.
Saw Beyond Re-Animator on IFC last week actually. It was pretty good.

Like I said, the beginning really sucks. Once it gets near the end though I really got into it. The next to last death scene is the best, and it becomes really grainy and has this real feel to it which is extremely scary. There are also a few scenes where they toy with the victims that are done very well. Just makes me wish they did the rest of the movie that way.

Just checked NetFlix and they don't know when it will be available, but I saved it in case it becomes so. Got 3 stars out of 5 there, and it said in the description it is violent.
Good enough for me. Hope it's available soon. Really want to see this now.

I had that in my queue for the longest and it never came up, so I wouldn't expect it any time soon. Hopefully you will get to see it though.

Got a friend that's a little nuts, but has a massive collection of horror on VHS. I'll ask him about it, he may have a copy. He likes the snuff type films, and it said on NetFlix this makes you feel like you're watching one.
If anyone I know has it, he will.

That's your best bet. I've been looking on Amazon and both DVD releases are out of print. Gonna be tough to get this one, but I'll find a way. I always find out about these movies too late!

I found this online in AVI format. Haven't watched it yet. Gotta convert the files and burn it to DVD and then I have it!! Probably watch it later this week.

I might try and pick up a used copy of one of the actual DVD's. I heard the extras on it are better than the film itself.

I watched some clips as I was converting it to DVD. Film quality looked really bad, but I was expecting that. 3 out of 5 stars by viewers, gotta give this a watch.
It's on DVD now and officially part of my collection.

It's incredibly poor quality, but that fact adds a nice sense of realism to some of the later scenes.

I'm down man. Gonna watch it tomorrow morning before work. Only reason I haven't watched it yet is cause football is on. I watch every game, even between teams I care nothing about. I just love watching the game. Bonus if the Skins win.  |
