I did like the fact that he was more serious instead of the wise cracking Freddy Englund played. Was OK in the first two, but then it just got over the top. I have the entire NOES series on DVD and I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched anything but the first two. The others have their moments, but just over the top cheese and camp.

Had a friend buy the entire Nighmare Series on I think 2 DVD's (those super saver packs at Best Buy) and we watched all the Nightmares over the course of about 3 days. That was not fun. Looking at those movies now was the real Nightmare.

Part 5 I think is the absolute worst. It made absolutely no sense at all. What a convoluted mess.

5 is the most over played film on tv you will never see another fredy film (pushing it) but it seems anytime i see "Nightmare on elm.." on the tv guide and change over to watch it, its always number 5

I wonder why that is? You'd think they'd want to play one of the better ones. Did they get bribed into replaying it?

The effects in the movie are still pretty good, just that they did nothing for the horrible story.

lol I liked 5 I liked them all. The cheesiness became the charm of the film I think, People watched them knowing they were going to be a bit crap rather then because they knoew it was a dam good horror film.

The films are a bit too corny and dated for me. I'm more of a gore hound anyway. Gimme a cheesy slasher flick any day and I'll be happy.

I knew you'd pop up in this one Ali, lol. I remember you liked this series. lol endo u know me so well I have another reason for being more attached to number 5, then the others. Alices names her 'dream child' Jacob, a name I fell in love with and always said I would have if I ever had a boy. So when this one pops out, he will be called Jacob. Bit of sentimental soppiness there to brighten ur day lol.
