So, originally set to be a prequel to the Aliens saga, this film by Ridley Scott is no longer a direct prequel, but a film set in the same universe and is rumored to reference the Alien saga in the films.
Now that this is not a direct Alien based film, I'm more interested in it after seeing this recently released teaser.
This one I might have to see in theaters.

Nice. That showed just enough to get me interested. Can't wait for a full length trailer now.

Saw this the other day on Attack of the Show and thought it looked pretty good. Don't know about the theater, but I'll definitely be checking this out.

I want to rewatch this and Covenant. Actually, I want to rewatch the whole series, except the versus movies, but this one and Covenant especially just to see which one I prefer more.
They're both a mess. But at least this one had that great C-section scene. They get too preachy. Too off course from the Alien franchise. They never should have combined the ideas Ridley Scott wanted to explore and merge them into an Alien movie. He obviously has no desire to explore that world the way in which the fans truly want. I really wish that Neil Blomkamp had gotten to film his Alien sequel. It sounded way more in line with what I wanted at least.
I don't like following David is my problem. And I would have been fine never going into depth about Weyland.
I just need to rewatch pretty much the whole series.

Both this and Covenant suck. They try to add to the lore, but it feels like they take away more than anything. I don't want to know the origin of the creatures, especially finding out they were created by an android. Plus the effects from the 79 film look way better than this, which is just sad.

Funny this should come up right now. I've had a Prometheus DVD for a very long time and just started to watch it last night, paused it about a third into it to take a phone call and went back to it tonight. I still haven't finished it (on the phone again) but will while I eat my supper tomorrow night. I started watching it when I bought it (it was in a Sci Fi four pack with I Robot; Independence Day and The Abyss) but wasn't 'feeling it' so I never finished. I didn't like it enough to go back to it, but yesterday I was in the mood to watch something Sci Fi that I hadn't seen a dozen times. Figured I'd give it another try. Still not doing it for me, so far it's just meh.

I finished watching Prometheus last night. I get that it was a prequel to Aliens, which is fine, however, I just never really got into it. I don't think the characters were developed enough for me to care about them so it never drew me into the story. I'd give it a five out of ten.

I know I didn't see it when it came out, but I think I tried watching it on one of the horror channels I have. I seem to remember a scene of a woman operating on herself with some machine or something, and the big naked white dude running around. It didn't leave much of a mark on me either, lol.
