Well I put this off for a long time I finally dished out the 8 bucks for the blu ray but I will say this.. if you don't own this or have not seen this film shame on you! Watching this film I couldn't help to think of Dave saying this is so bad its good.. but in honesty this film is so good its fantastic. Everyone has to see this film but if you wanna buy into the film skip the blu ray version or you will see the cables lifting actors and costumes zippers and all the little things vhs hides from us with its grain and noise LOL.

I got lucky and found the full screen version of it on dvd a month or so ago. I just regret waiting so long that I missed out on Bruce Campbell vs the Army of Darkness. While still available, I could have gotten it for $3. And I found it weeks after I bought the VHS.

It is a great movie. A lot of people were upset about it getting so campy, but that makes the movie. That's the only reason I said it was a so bad it's good movie. I love it, but when it starts getting campy a lot of folks stop watching. There's so much more to it.
Army of Darkness is great as well.
Why I'm so pumped up about the upcoming sequel. Not so much about the original Evil Dead remake.
My favorite scene from Evil Dead 2, Henrietta in the cellar...

The funny part about that is that it would probably make me enjoy the movie even more lol.

Im still torn between this and the first film. Purely because i consider ED II a remake (of sorts) of the first film. The good thing about ED II is they made Campbell's character have more balls than in the first one. In the first he was a timid looking character that took time to get going. In ED II he took to the mayhem quite soon on in the film. Theres a big difference between the special FX in each film, but i prefer the gore in ED II. ED I was claymation, and a tad lack-lustre. It still worked though. I did like the tree rape scene in the first one though. That was a good edition to the film. Just dont mention the dire ED III. I find that a joke - which i know its supposed to be, but c'mon, it spoilt the trilogy.

I thought Army of Darkness was great, but it's almost like Halloween 3, you have to try to take it stand alone, rather than part of the series. Army of Darkness took the camp and goofiness up a couple levels, but another movie that has more great scenes than not to me. Still interested in the fourth part of the series in production, or attempting to get produced. Not sure if I'm interested at all in the remake of the first one, but you never know.

Sure ED III was campy and totally spoofy, and yeah, its more like a standalone film, but it is supposed to be a sequel to ED and its not the best really. Fun, yes.
