TBH I've never even paid attention to the bookmark thing, don't think I've ever even used it actually. It's possible that it's a coding issue causing the problem. There are some coding issues here, but me not me being the best with coding, every time I try to get help on Proboards Support I end up disabling the entire forum.
We have a graphics mod named Tony that handles all of the skins and coding, but he's been really busy and not been able to be here in some time. I've learned the hard way not to mess around in there, other than for the simplest things.
Any advice you could offer would be great, just know going in that you'll have to take my hand and walk me through what needs fixing and how to do it.

Thanks. I have received some emails for my bookmarked thread, even though they dont show in my bookmarks list. Not sure why that is happening, but its not a huge issue, just a minor inconvenience whilst im offline.
Ive used proboards software for close to 11 years now and have used coding quite a lot. Im not a coder, but i understand coding that has been made by other people. Some codes i just leave alone. Mainly the ones that i dont need anyway. cheers.

Apologies for the inconvenience. After the 4th and work settles some, I'll attempt to go through the codes here and get rid of what isn't needed anymore and try to fix what is.
Simple stuff I can manage, but apparently we have a page and a half of stuff wrong in the coding according to Proboards support. Where the freak is Tony?

PBS are pretty good usually. They have sorted out code issues for me in the past. I try to use as little coding as possible but still keep the forum user friendly.

I have tons of coding that probably isn't even working. That's what messes me up, I don't know what to remove or add. When I ask for help on Proboards, yeah, they're very knowledgeable, but me not knowing much about coding they kind of tell me add this and remove this and just expect me to know where. And, I invariably end up wrecking the forum.
Forum works, for the most part. But, I'm one of those people that are driven nuts when one little thing isn't right. I'll get it ironed out at some point.

And, I invariably end up wrecking the forum. Forum works, for the most part. But, I'm one of those people that are driven nuts when one little thing isn't right. I'll get it ironed out at some point. I hear ya. I've been looking at the page source for this forum. The following code doesnt appear to be needed as theres already a link there for access to PM's. This code adds an extra button, but not needed, i feel. All this code does is add an extra link and an alert. If you can live without the alert, and extra button, i'd remove it. Ive just noticed that the code is also added twice, too. You could remove both codes. You can set your PM inbox to alert you when you get a new PM. No code needed. Just visit your PM's > Click on Preferences > Click on Personal Messages Preferences > choose how you want to be notified. <script type="text/javascript"> /* Add PM Link or Button to Menu with Alert by SubDevo */ /* Global Header - Please leave this header intact. Do not repost. */ /* http://interoceandesigns.com or http://lsdp.proboards.com */
var newAlert=1; // Show a 'New PM' Alert box? 1=Yes, 0=No var onRight=0; // Put Link on Right side of Menu? 1=Yes, 0=No var noMess="Messages"; // No New PMs Text or Image URL var newMess="New Message!"; // New PMs Text or Image URL var newColor=""; // New PMs Text Link Color
var n=document.getElementsByTagName("font"),a,b,d,e; if(pb_username!="Guest"){ a=parseInt(n[2].innerHTML.split(",")[3]); e=a; b=(e)?newMess:noMess; d=(e)?" style='color:#"+newColor+"'":""; a+=" new"; if(b.indexOf("http:")==0){b='<img src="'+b+'" border="0" alt="'+ a +'" \/>';} d="<a title='"+a+"' href='index.cgi?action=pm'"+d+">"+ b +"</a>"; b=n[3].innerHTML;n[3].innerHTML=(onRight)?b.slice(0,-1)+" "+d:d+" "+b; b=(/myPMs=(\d+)/.test(document.cookie))?e-RegExp.$1:e; if(newAlert&&b>0&&confirm('You have '+a+' message(s).\nClick "OK" to go to your inbox.')){ location.href="/index.cgi?action=pm"; } document.cookie="myPMs="+e+"; path=/"; } </script> The next code is doing nothing on this forum. Ive looked at your homepage here, and also the info center at Proboards support, and the code added here isnt removing anything. Its supposed to remove the info center title bar, but its not. It can be removed if you want too. <script type="text/javascript"> //Remove info center titlebar if( this.location.href.match(/\.com(\/(index\.cgi(\?|#\w+)?)?)?$/)) { var T = document.body.getElementsByTagName("td"); for(t=0;t<T.length;t++){ if(T[t].className == "titlebg" && T[t].innerHTML.match(/Info\sCenter/)) T[t].parentNode.style.display = "none"; }} </script> The next one appears to be doing nothing, too. Its supposed to remove the info center icons, but the icons are still visible, so it appears it isn't needed. <script> //remove info center icons var InfoIcon=document.getElementsByTagName("TD") for(t=0;t<InfoIcon.length;t++){ if(InfoIcon[t].className.match("windowbg") && InfoIcon[t].width=="20" && InfoIcon[t].vAlign=="middle"){ InfoIcon[t].style.display="none" }} </script> The last code i'll post is supposed to be a post splitter and add a head and base image to each post. This code isnt working, and doing nothing. It can be removed. <script type='text/javascript'> /* Post Splitter with Head/Base images v2 By Scorpian: http://roddyinnovations.com */
/*/_| Edit These |_\*/ var riHead = 'http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/goblinb0y/spacer-1.gif'; // URL of head image var riBase = 'http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/goblinb0y/spacer-1.gif'; // URL of base image var riGap = '6'; // Height of gap var riAuthor = 'no'; // Show "author|topics" row? 'yes' or 'no' only
/*/_| Do Not Edit |_\*/ var riTable = document.getElementsByTagName('table'); var headImg = document.createElement('img'); var baseImg = document.createElement('img'); headImg.src = riHead; baseImg.src = riBase; var tehTab = document.createElement('table'); var tehBody = document.createElement('tbody'); tehTab.cellSpacing = 1; tehTab.cellPadding = 4; tehTab.className = 'bordercolor'; tehTab.width = '100%'; var gapDiv = document.createElement('div'); gapDiv.style.height = riGap; var end = false; var insBef = false; if(location.href.match(/action=display/i)){ for(a=0; a<riTable.length; a++){ if(riTable[a].cellSpacing == 1 && riTable[a].cellPadding == 4 && riTable[a].rows[0].cells[0].colSpan == 2){ riTable[a-1].style.backgroundColor = 'transparent'; riTable[a].className = 'bordercolor'; var newCell = riTable[a-1].insertRow(-1).insertCell(0); for(b=2; b<riTable[a].rows.length; b++){ if(!insBef){ if(riTable[a].rows[b-1].cells[0].className == "catbg" && riTable[a].rows[b-1].cells[0].innerHTML.match(/>Poll</i)){ var insBef = true; newCell.appendChild(gapDiv.cloneNode(true)); } } if(riTable[a].rows[b].cells[0].className.match(/windowbg/i) && !riTable[a].rows[b-1].cells[0].innerHTML.match(/>Poll</i)){ var newTable = tehTab.cloneNode(true); var newTab = tehBody.cloneNode(true); if(riTable[a].rows[b-1].cells[0].className == 'catbg' && riTable[a].rows[b-2].cells[0].className == 'titlebg'){ newTab.appendChild(riTable[a].rows[b-2].cloneNode(true)); riTable[a].rows[b-2].style.display = 'none'; if(riAuthor == 'yes'){ newTab.appendChild(riTable[a].rows[b-1].cloneNode(true)); } riTable[a].rows[b-1].style.display = 'none'; } if(insBef){ newTab.appendChild(riTable[a].rows[0].cloneNode(true)); riTable[a].rows[0].style.display = 'none'; if(riAuthor == 'yes'){ newTab.appendChild(riTable[a].rows[3].cloneNode(true)); } riTable[a].rows[3].style.display = 'none'; } newTab.appendChild(riTable[a].rows[b].cloneNode(true)); riTable[a].rows[b].style.display = 'none'; if(riTable[a].rows[b+1] && riTable[a].rows[b+1].cells[0].className == 'titlebg'){ var end = true; newTab.appendChild(riTable[a].rows[b+1].cloneNode(true)); riTable[a].rows[b+1].style.display = 'none'; if(riTable[a].rows[b+2]){ newTab.appendChild(riTable[a].rows[b+2].cloneNode(true)); riTable[a].rows[b+2].style.display = 'none'; } } newCell.appendChild(headImg.cloneNode(true)); newTable.appendChild(newTab); newCell.appendChild(newTable); newCell.appendChild(baseImg.cloneNode(true)); if(!end){ newCell.appendChild(gapDiv.cloneNode(true)); } } } if(insBef){ riTable[a].parentNode.insertBefore(headImg.cloneNode(true),riTable[a]); riTable[a].parentNode.insertBefore(baseImg.cloneNode(true),riTable[a].nextSibling); }else{ riTable[a].parentNode.parentNode.style.display = 'none'; } break; } } } </script> Some of these codes may be in either global/main headers/footers. Hope this helps. p.s. im asking about another code at PBS coz im unsure what it does. I'll get back to ya when i find out.

OK, gonna go remove the ones that aren't necessary. Crossing my fingers that I don't screw anything up. Thanks, I appreciate the help.
That went OK. Think I got rid of all of the ones you pointed out. If you see anything else, let me know. Thanks again.

No probs.
Since the code removals, my bookmarks are working properly now. My email inbox was flooded with email notifications, so im guessing it was the "PM code" that was causing the issue. Like i say, you can get alerts for new messages via your profile.
Just visit your PM's > Click on Preferences > Click on Personal Messages Preferences > choose how you want to be notified.
Ive had a response over at PBS about the code i wasnt too sure about. Its basically a code to allow members to add any video here in their posts, and not just youtube videos. I didnt really know what it was, but ive got the answer now - so that code can stay in if ya like.

Oh, yeah I added the "any video" code because I get so many new trailers from Upcoming Horror Movies and they're usually not in YouTube format. Adding the code was easier than running to YouTube every time to try to find the trailers.
Glad it cleared up the bookmarking issues for you. The border around forum code wouldn't work before either and now it does, so it seems to have cleared up multiple issues. Thanks again for your help.

Yeah, im glad its sorted out now. Errors usually stem from coding and/or code conflicts.
You're welcome. Anything to help. I know how frustrating it can be.
