When a movie starts with "Warning shot!" *boomSPLATTER* "Little low." you know you have something special.
The cast just works, from top to bottom, and the sequel just continues it in such proper fashion. Like I said, a great mix of comedy and action, right? Awesome oneliners, just a great film, a classic premise. Wish more people were thinking like Stallone the last few years.

Pure, unadulterated machismo. Great mix of action, gore and humor. Great way to spend 2 hours.
Van Damme was only ever a villain in that and the first No Retreat, No Surrender that I can recall. Unless you count his dual role in Replicant.

It was way better than i expected. Is Ahnold back in the sequel?

Ahnold is back in the sequel and has more time in it. It also has Chuck Norris, as well as more screen time for Terry Crews and Dolph Lundgren.

Not that Dolph was short on screen time in the first one. How can you not enjoy that fight he had with Jet Li?

"What's he doing?"
"He's hanging a pirate."
"Gunner, what're you doing?"
"I'm hanging a pirate!"

Again, first 10 minutes. That second can't get on blu-ray fast enough. I want it so much, it's not even funny. We need to see it again, dude.

I'm surprised it hasn't been announced. I can't see these guys not wanting to do it. C'mon, it's making money like no tomorrow, too!

It's the only action film in America that has any balls to it. Asian countries are making some really great ones lately. Hopefully this films starts a trend that'll bring the American action film back to it's former glory.

From some reports I just now skimmed, it looks like the producer of the films wants to do a third one (IMDB says it's been announced but we all know how trustworthy they are in that case), and hoping to add Wesley Snipes, Nic Cage, Harrison Ford and/or Clint Eastwood to the lineup. Chuck Norris already announced it's a one and done for him, so no 3 in his future.
Okay, none of those were the ones we talked about when we were discussing a third installment, were they Tomas? Nonetheless, one can hope for Ford and Eastwood. That would just be too much.

We did want Wesley Snipes. Hopefully he'll be the villain in that one and just be Simon Phoenix again. Eastwood or Ford would be awesome, I just hope no Nic Cage.

Sounded like Cage might be a lock. Which would only work if he was somehow playing a villain. We already had Simon Phoenix as the villain anyway.

Those are only rumors, but as long as 3 comes out, that's all that matters to me.
Last night I unfortunately subjected myself to the Clash of the Titans remake. It was every bit as awful as I heard.

Why would you do that to yourself!?
Last night, I watched Alien vs Predator, Hatchet II, and Freddy vs Jason. Actually, I started with FvJ and ended with AVP. Go figure. A good night of blu-ray horror.
