Vince is as old school as they come, so you'd think he would have some respect for the old days and the way things were. A classy belt says a lot about a promotion. He just seems to think nothing but money now, like he doesn't have enough. I guess there's no such thing as too much money.
Man, the belts were what got me into wrestling way back in the 70's. I stumbled on a WWWF show and I was taken with Superstar Graham right away, he was in awesome shape at the time, but that belt. I loved everything about it. I remember thinking how awesome it looked and how bad ass he looked with it.
It really sold the whole deal of him being champion and I thought it was the most important title in the business just based off of the belt. Then I got the magazines and later learned the was nothing more than a regional territory, at least compared to the NWA at the time. It was the belt, it screamed champion at me and I was in. Shame the same care isn't taken in picking today's belts. ROH is doing a classy job of it...for now.
