How much more was it than a paperback, Lee? I do think you'll enjoy it though.

So, I found the Richard Bachman story Rage in a download of Stephen Kings comprehensive collection. This is the story King himself had taken out of stores after the Columbine tragedy. It pops up occasionally and is usually expensive. The paperback is on Amazon now for $299.
I haven't read this in years, but I do remember that it was pretty brutal. I don't know how cool it would be to post here for all to read, Proboards might frown on that. If you want to read it, let me know. I'll get it to you somehow.

I do think you'll enjoy it though. i completely missed this. the book cost me £3 ( about $5 ). a bargain if ever there was one. i went in a shop and they had a paperback copy of christine in and they £6 for it. i laughed at the owner and told him he was a dick.

Seems like some store owners don't even care about being competitive, pricing wise. Makes me wonder how they stay in business.

Rage was really good, and really dark. Great story, too bad so many used it as the reason to go shoot up their schools and kill people. I can certainly see why King had this pulled, he probably felt horrible when it was found in the lockers/backpacks of the shooters or when they cited that as their inspiration. But, a great read, and I didn't pay $299 for it. I paid nothing, so hit me up if you guys want to check it out.

I am currently reading the new Stephen King book (11/22/63). Its about a guy named Jake who travels to the past in order to try to prevent the JFK assassination. I am about 200 pages in so far, and this is a long book but so far it is holding my interest. Jake traveled to Derry (which is a familiar locale to King fans) and he met Beverly and Richie from "It."
So far I am enjoying this book but I'm already worried about the ending, lol. Stephen King has let me down with the endings of some of his more recent books, especially Cell and Under the Dome. I just hope the ending of 11/22/63 isn't a let down too.

Stephen King has let me down with the endings of some of his more recent books, especially Cell and Under the Dome. i've got to agree with that. the cell was a good read but the ending was just lousy. neither are books i'd read again in a hurry.

There have been a lot of his books I just couldn't get into or didn't get. I didn't care for The Dark Tower series, and Insomnia was one of the hardest books to finish that I've ever read. Agree about the ending to Cell. I wish we'd get the same King that wrote The Shining or It one of these times. Even his short stories have gotten kinda out there.
Sucks, I loved it when a new book came out by him back in the day. Not so much anymore.

I think I read that a few years back. It's a Bachman book if I remember correctly. From what I recall, I liked it. Don't remember how it ended though, so, good luck.

A Shining sequel? I don't know how I feel about that. I think no. But, I'll keep an open mind.

it's a book i'm now looking for in the s.a. or any other charity shop.
