You know, that's what a single comic goes for now, right?

I know. That's why I get trades off Amazon.

Amazon? Hell, that's why I buy mine at the Salvation Army! Okay, I haven't gotten anything from them in a while, but you know what I mean.
Ah hell, Amazon and Strand it is.

These books were a very large part of what made me who I am today. Loved the stories, but the art especially -- were Gammell's illustration nightmare fuel or what? I've often thought about trying to track him down, seeing how much he'd charge for an original print ($$$$$$$). They'd make cool tattoos too.

They really would, and I love scary tattoos anyway, so that would be awesome.

I think the art would have to be tightened up a bit to make it a tattoo, but it would definitely make a good base to work off of.

I stand corrected. You can get that watercolor look from the original drawings.

I'd have to really do my research to make sure I found someone that could do it right and not make it look like crap.

I kind of remember the stories, but it's the artwork that stuck with me mostly. I still have to see the movie, which got mixed reviews but I'm still eager to see it with my girlfriend.
Thankfully I got a copy of the three books in a treasury set with the original artwork. I'll have to re-read them sometime.
The Red Spot always scared me 'cause I'm not fan of spiders, even though my favorite superhero is Spider-Man. Go figure.

I have the same copy with all three books in it and the original artwork. I posted somewhere else here that some of the stories are still OK, I mean they were aimed at kids really, but some are just not very good, lol.
The art holds up for sure, and I'm still really glad I was able to find them and still read them every now and then.

I read these books when I was in school but I checked them out from the library at school. I didn't actually own them when I was younger. I do have the new ones that they have now. Not the movie tie in ones. I've already read all three of them and they are just like I remembered them.
