Damn, had I known that was about Tyreese I would have gone out and gotten that. Nothing interested me this year, and I thought that was just another story I've read already. Guess I gotta wait for a scan.

I went by the comic book store in Annapolis before I had to be at the store and grabbed an issue of The Walking Dead. I wouldn't have bothered, but me not knowing crap about comics, I didn't know if it would be worth something someday or not. I would have grabbed a few but they were running low when I got there and were limiting people to one each. I had to stand in line 20 minutes just to get that.

Even if it isn't, it's still a cool thing to have. Hopefully they put it in one of the trades.

I couldn't believe there were still so many people there, but I've never even been there before so I don't know what kind of business they normally do.

Free comic day brings out a lot of people who are casual readers. Once in a while you will get something pretty awesome that could potentially be worth money, but I always ended up getting crap.

Comics don't have value anymore. They just don't. You can blame Marvel and Image for that in the 90s with all their BS covers. Books could hit 1000000 copies then, oversaturated the market, killing it. Like sports/media collectable cards.

I have some copies of Secrets of Haunted House and House of Mystery from the early 70's that I've taken crazy good care of. That's tough to do as a kid. Still aren't worth much. When they say they need to be mint, apparently that's off the press and bagged, no other touching at all.

Comics weren't made in such mass quantities back like they are now, which is why those things are worth money.

Even then, nowhere near as much as they were because there was still a good amount printed. The comics I've bought, might be worth... a couple hundred bucks for the good ones, the rest would be quarter bin fare, if not trashed.

I thought I had some serious ish when I first got stationed in Biloxi during my time in the Air Force. The BX there had Tales from the Crypt comics. I didn't know they were reprints lol, I thought, wow, they're still around. My roommate woke me up fast.
