Christ, every computer I've looked at lately has me worried I'd be replacing this machine with a piece of ish. With Windows 8. I actually like Vista. Anyway. The few laptops I've looked at have been having some major issues from hardware to software (mainly Windows 8 being total ish). I don't know what to get or do now.
For those interested, I was looking at the HP laptops DV7-7240us and G7-2240us. Both have some bad reviews when it comes to the screen and such. Just... confused on what to do. Going to Best Buy in the next day or 2, gonna get some information there.

If you like Vista, I think you'd love Windows 7. I've heard nothing but bad about Windows 8, with most PC mags saying Microsoft screwed up bad with that OS. If you could get a high powered processor, good RAM, and good storage with Win 7, I think you'd be pleased just going off of what you use it for. You might find something at Best Buy, I love that place myself, but I'd just be worried that you wouldn't get very solid advice from someone there. For instance, this is a pretty good machine for a decent price... www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4904362&CatId=4000Win 7 64 bit OS, core i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive and it's an HP. Out of 14 reviews it got 4.5 out of 5 overall. Just an example of what's still out there without having to go the Windows 8 route. My biggest thing is reading the reviews. Best info you can get is from someone that bought it and used it. |
