"During a zombie apocalypse ,a group of survivors hide on Alcatraz Island to escape from rising zombie hordes. When their refuge is overrun, and upon hearing that a scientist may have discovered a cure, they leave the island to seek him out."
Well, the cast sure is interesting. We have Danny Trejo, Levar Burton (Reading Rainbooooooow!), Ethan Suplee (Vader's son in Boy Meets World if you don't know him by name), and of all people, French Stewart!
Anyway, this movie sucks! There are some decent practical effects, but way too much shitty CGI. With the exception of Danny Trejo (who dies way too soon, and in a b!tch way at that), Ethan Suplee, and a dog, the rest of the cast is boring, stupid or unlikeable.
This is yet another crap zombie film full of ish you've seen a billion times, and done better elsewhere. Skip.

If you've seen any of the direct to DVD zombie films in the last 3 years, you've seen this. Be glad you missed it.

Not that a lot of straight to video crap wasn't around in the 80's and early 90's, but at least a decent portion of it was entertaining. The same can't be said of most of the junk now.

They felt gritty back then, focusing a lot more on the story than just the gore. Now it's all just blood and pus and ish.

They just want to show off their shitty CGI and horrible makeup. Considering how little flash there is, you'd think they'd want to fill it with some substance. Nope.
