"In a small New England town more than half a century ago, a boy is playing with his new toy soldiers in the dirt in front of his house when a shadow falls over him. He looks up to see a striking man, the new minister, Jamie learns later, who with his beautiful wife, will transform the church and the town. The men and boys are a bit in love with Mrs. Jacobs; the women and girls, with the Reverend Jacobs — including Jamie’s sisters and mother. Then tragedy strikes, and this charismatic preacher curses God, and is banished from the shocked town.
Jamie has demons of his own. Wed to his guitar from age 13, he plays in bands across the country, running from his own family tragedies, losing one job after another when his addictions get the better of him. Decades later, sober and living a decent life, he and Reverend Charles Jacobs meet again in a pact beyond even the Devil’s devising, and the many terrifying meanings of Revival are revealed."
Coming November 11th. Cover art to come.

Well if its Stephen King, I'm in....if only out of habit! I still love his earliest books the best, but I still read every book he writes.

Not really related, but Dave, the comic Revival is worth reading. I don't have any links for it, but if you find it take a chance on it. Worth it.

I try to read all of his books too, but I agree with you, I think his early stuff is his best work too. Not really related, but Dave, the comic Revival is worth reading. I don't have any links for it, but if you find it take a chance on it. Worth it. I'll see if I can find any out there and give it a shot. Thanks. EDIT: I knew it sounded familiar, we talked about it here. I'm on the hunt.

I love his work, though I must admit I get very uptight when they decide to make a film or television adaption of one of his novels...it is always so hit and miss that it drives me insane because I can't bring myself not watch it...but I risk completely hating it when I do. Like the television adaption of Under the dome...I LOVED the book...the television series however is so far off from the book it drives me crazy to watch (but I still do it). This one sounds intriguing... I might have to look into acquiring it.

I agree about his work being made into movies and shows. Seems like it's always a crap shoot as to what you're going to get. I thought The Mist and 1408 were fantastic movies based off of his shorter stories, but yeah...Under The Dome was way off from the book. Not a bad show, I didn't think, but way different than the novel. King himself posted online why the show was done the way it was, which was kind of cool.
Anyway, I'm behind on my King reading, I still need to read Dr. Sleep which I've heard is really good.

Oh that bit about Stephen King telling why the show was done that way intrigues me...I must find that!

Ah, Thank-you! What he says makes sense I suppose...though I really still believe that they really do pick and choose what to change...I mean look at the Harry Potter series...they really didn't alter too too much from the original storyline...at least nothing that made me annoyed and blatantly question why they changed or added or removed such content.

I think if Under The Dome had been a movie rather than a show, it could have been left more like the book. But when they decided to do a mini series, which I guess now is a series since it's coming back for a second season, I guess they had to change it to make it work.

Yea I could definitely see some content (particularly the necrophilia)being just unusable for television ratings. I can't believe they made fans watching the tv series wait a year to see the second part though...like good god.

I dug this one. It doesn't rank among my favorite King novels by any means, but I still enjoyed it and don't regret picking it up on hardcover at all (even though I rarely do that these days, the price of books being so extravagant and all).

I know what you mean. My Mom got it from her book club so she gave it to my wife since Moms eyes aren't the best. My wife has liked it so far.

Right on. My wife and I actually read this one together (yeah, we're *incredibly* nerdy like that).
