This isn't my type of movie, but I can certainly see how fans of the original are turned off by the new one. The turtles themselves do look really odd, especially compared to the cartoon and the original film. Almost freakily so.

There was potential for this being good. I like how they have unique looks to all of them, but I still can't get over those lips. Noses are fine, since turtles have those. But lips? And being 4000 feet tall? No.
