A series of films that explore suicide and death. Each day of the week features another film showing us a different death, while in between we see a corpse slowly rot away.
Monday - A man comes home from work, then calls into his job and says that he's quitting. Afterwards he cleans the house, writes some letters, feeds his goldfish, and swallows poison as he goes to his bathtub waiting to die.
Tuesday - A man rents a violent movie from the video store. His girlfriend comes home and yells at him, and once he gets fed up, he shoots her in the head, then puts a picture frame over the wall where her brain matter and blood have flown.
Wednesday - A man meets a woman in the park on a rainy day. He goes into detail about his disastrous sex life and how it led to him murdering her. The woman pulls a gun out of her purse, which the man takes and shoots himself in the mouth with.
Thursday - A sweeping shot over a bridge which gives the name, occupation, and dates of the people who jumped off of it to their death.
Friday - A woman alone in her apartment spies on a happy couple. She opens her door and finds a chain letter asking her to kill herself.
Saturday - A woman straps a camera to her body and shoots up a rock concert, killing the lead singer and many in the audience until someone kills her.
Sunday - A man repeatedly slams his head against a wall until he dies from brain damage.
So...this was interesting! Each film, as you can likely tell from the description, is very short. None of them overstay their welcome, and provide different levels of suffering and gore. Of all the Buttgereit films I've seen, this one is my favorite. I enjoy the variety, and this one I feel also has the best soundtrack.
I only have a not too good quality VHS of this, but thankfully a limited edition blu-ray will be out soon, which also includes the soundtrack! If you haven't seen this, I would recommend it. If you can't get the blu-ray, there is a copy of it up on YouTube to watch. Check it out!

I fell asleep. I found a few segments interesting, others dull. But I DO want that BD and give this another chance, plus the wraparound footage between each segment of a decomposing body was really interesting in a morbidly scientific way. I do need to give this another shot.
