This is a sort of everyone takes part story where everyone can post from one line to a whole chapter of a story.
The train is a bit like Christine.
Tarryn looked round the small one room shack he was living in and thought he would take a chance by moving out and taking the midnight train to Megapolis, the brand new city they keep talking about on the nightly news. 'It can't be any worse than this run down dirty old city' he said to himself. Slowly he packed some things in to a single suitcase and walked through the streets to the ramshackle and falling apart station, walking in to the gloom he felt a cold foreboding, but decided it must be just the time of year.
Tarryn headed for the ticket office and almost fell to the floor in shock, when he saw a fleshless arm appear to take his money and then to give him his ticket. 'This place is getting weirder by the minute' he thougt. Checking the ticket he found he had a sleeping berth on the, 'Midnight Special To Die For'. 'Not heard of this train before', he said out loud to no one in particular, as he headed for platform 13.

<>This sounds familiar... I'm terrible at this type of thing, but I'm sure others are much better than me.<>

<> See, my problem with this is that I want to participate, but I'm what you could say a visual type of writer, when I write a scene, I see it in my head and that is going to scare the crap out of me. lol. I may be the one-liner so I don't have to visualize so much... I love the concept though, fun idea!! <>
As he stepped across the decaying concrete, he was overwhelmed by a sense of fear, a primal instinct urging him to turn back, yet his curiosity pushed him forward. A sudden fog filled his sight, blinding him, and he almost gave in to reason. Fighting through the blurry haze, he finally saw the edges of a black sign with the number "13" written in faded red.

<> Where as my problem is I have to wait for creativity to come, before I can do anything else. <>
Inching through the gloom he found his way to carriage number 13 and he wondered if he would also be in berth 13. Upon boarding his fears were well and truly founded as he was directed to berth 13, by what he assumed was a servant or conductor. There was suddenly several loud bangs as door were shut tight, followed by a sudden and massive lurch as the train started.
So sudden was the start that he fell to the floor and was almost blinded by a brilliant flash of light coming from he knew not where. He lay there for awhile, before recovering and managing to sit up and look round. Pressing the light switch, he relaxed as he could finally see what he was doing. He jumped at a knock at the door and a gravelly voice said, 'Tickets Please', fumbling for the ticket he passed it to the shambling horror that was the ticket collector. 'Dear god' he thought, what will I meet next.
Another knock on the door and a scared feminine voice said, 'Is that you Tarryn ?'. He replied, 'Yes it is I' and opened the door to Kylie, a lady he had met a few times in the past.

I think this train is eating people, Kylie said. In what way do you think the train is eating people, Tarryn asked. Well I saw a little old lady being taken towards the front of the train, then I heard a loud scream, juist as the train started off and I think every time it speeds up is when they have fed someone to whatever is at the front of the train! Can we block the door, said a very scared Kylie. If we can move this chest of drawers round, it should be enought to block the door, give me a hand Kylie.
A few hours later a massive bang and a dark blood curdling voice outside the door made Tarryn and Kylie jump. The voice was saying, "Your Next". Kylie screamed, and Tarryn reached for the window, throwing their luggage out, then they both jumped as the train was running fairly slowly by now. Picking up their meagre possessions they ran as fast as they could away from the train in a direction roughly towards the city.

Sometime later they were able to see the locomotive at the front of the train with blood red smoke coming out of the funnel and a crew of what looked like zombies feeding passengers in to the firebox, where they were eaten alive and their bones spewed out on to the ground.
What sort of hell is this , said Tarryn. We need to get away from this train fast as some invisble force started to tug at them. Turning away they ran as fast as they could down a lonely backroad, until finding an old garage with a few cars sitting in the yard. Wonder if any of them run, said Kylie.
Opening the door to the office they were able to get a set of keys for a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury. They jumped in, turned the key and raced off toward the city.

After arriving in the city the red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury just stopped alongside a rail line, so Tarryn and Kylie rode a streetcar named 'Desire' to near their new home. Finally they walked in and started a new life in the brand new city, but..........................
