Lou Yardley. That's me! I've got to admit that it does feel a little bit weird and very egotistical to be starting a thread about myself, but I'm going with it. I'm one of those people who has always talked about writing a novel, but - bar more than a handful of false starts - I've never really done anything about it. Until now... Back in November, I decided to take part in NaNoWriMo and I was determined to hit the 50,000 word target within the month. And I did. And I didn't stop. Ok, that's a bit of a lie, as I did eventually stop, but only when I'd finished telling my little story. As I'd told so many people about my little project, I kept having people ask me if and when they could read it... so I decided to publish it. Now it is available for all to see! I'm still not sure if this is a good or bad thing! lol The story is called "The Other's Voice" and it centres around a family of five in their average sub-urban home. Their lives are pretty normal until they start to notice more than a couple of spiders have invaded their house... and then hell breaks loose. I'll be the first to admit that it's a little rough around the edges (I'm not selling it here, am I?), but I have received some pretty good feedback (that's better!) and, overall, I'm pretty damn pleased with it. I know loads of people say this, but I'm writing for me - if other people like it, that's a bonus. A big, shiny bonus. I'm currently working on a sequel (which will pick up a year after this one finishes) and a selection of short stories / flash fiction that will act as a bit of a prequel. You can grab "The Other's Voice" from Amazon (Kindle and Paperback), CreateSpace (Paperback) and Kobo (ePub). I also have my own little website over at louyardley.com

Thanks endo - I'll probably take you up on that offer. I just need to make a banner first! I'm going to post the first of my short stories up on my site before I release the whole collection. Would it be ok if I posted it here to? Or even just a link to it? It'll be available for free.
