I think I need to get a new player. The one I currently have, I've had for a good 4 or 5 years. It's been a hell of a good player, and I've never had to update it considering how many new BDs I've bought over the years. All of the one's I watched (so far) have played. But lately it's not working with some of my DVDs. Or rather, it takes a few hits of the eject button to get them to be read. And even one is not being read at all. It's getting aggravating and making it harder to get into Sci-Fi-September. I want to see about getting a new player.
Now, I'm interested in something region free. At least for DVDs, but overall would be best. Anyone have any suggestions of what is worth getting out there? I'm not looking to spend more than $150 for a full region free player. Or $75 for a regular BD player.
I've been tempted to buy one from the salvation army by work for $25 when I check them out. But none of them ever have the remotes it seems.

If they have a region free at SA for that price, I'd grab it. You can always get a good universal remote cheap with a code for it. I bought an older VCR a while back on E-Bay and a universal remote works just fine with it, cost maybe $8.

I always look to see if they are region free but only region 1 so far. I check every time I go. Good to know about the remote, though. I might cave a buy a player anyway because this is really starting to bother me.

Get a cheap one to get you through til you find a decently priced region free one. The remote would probably work with both.

If I find one that wasn't made a decade ago I think I will.

Found a Samsung region free for $179, I may jump on it as a Christmas present to myself.

That ain't bad.
I've already spent a lot this month and will probably spend some more so I'm going to wait before I pick one up. But March would be the best time for me to do so.

I figure it's my first BD player, might as well make it region free to watch it all. I don't know, maybe after Christmas with my bonus, still have a few things to get the wife.

It's not region free, but I got TWO new players now! YAY!
Seriously, I can finally watch Hellboy 2 on DVD! And it was worth the wait.

Daniel and Bryan bought me a refurbished Samsung player, and I picked up an LG 350 something or other myself. They both work great.

Just looked up the LG350 and that's pretty nice! Especially for $69. Thinking I may grab one too.
