"From the Press Release: 3000 UNIT LIMITED COLLECTOR’S EDITION BLU-RAY/DVD COMBO IN BLU-RAY STEELBOOK® PACKAGING! In the history of Synapse Films few titles have generated as much excitement as POPCORN, director Mark Herrier’s 1991 cult favorite that’s been one of the most in-demand genre films of the Blu-ray era. Unavailable for over a decade, POPCORN finally comes to HD in a deliciously butter-topped Limited Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Steelbook® Blu-ray that will have fans craving for refills! What could be scarier than an all-night “Horrorthon”? A group of film students finds out when they stage just such an event at an abandoned movie palace. In addition to the three features—MOSQUITO, THE ATTACK OF THE AMAZING ELECTRIFIED MAN and THE STENCH—they decide to screen a bizarre short called THE POSSESSOR, whose creator, Lanyard Gates, killed his family and set the theater on fire after its first showing. Maggie (Jill Schoelen, THE STEPFATHER) has been having frightening dreams that seem to be connected to THE POSSESSOR, and as the festival proceeds, the nightmare comes true for her and her friends as they are stalked and slain by a mysterious killer. Has Gates survived to continue THE POSSESSOR’s deadly legacy? A loving homage to ’50s/’60s B-movies (the trio of flicks shown at the Horrorthon all have accompanying William Castle-style gimmicks), POPCORN is also an insanely fun horror/comedy in its own right. Pseudonymously written by Alan Ormsby (CAT PEOPLE, DEATHDREAM), who directed the films-within-the-film, it celebrates the joys of old-fashioned creature features and ’80s-style stalk-and-slay, with a great cast additionally including Dee Wallace Stone (THE HOWLING), Tony Roberts (AMITYVILLE 3-D), Ray Walston (THE STAND), Malcolm Danare (CHRISTINE) and Kelly Jo Minter (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 5). Pop some popcorn of your own and settle in to watch this new high-definition transfer, which comes with a box full of bonus features! SHOCK-O-RIFIC SPECIAL FEATURES INCLUDE: All Region Encoded/Playable Worldwide! All-New 2K Scan of an Archival 35mm Interpositive All-New Blu-ray 7.1 Surround Sound Mix Supervised by Synapse Films (Original 2.0 Stereo Mix Included) All-New 5.1 Surround Mix for DVD Audio Commentary with Director Mark Herrier, Stars Jill Schoelen, Malcolm Danare, and Special Makeup Effects Artist Mat Falls Midnight Madness: The Making of “Popcorn” featuring interviews with Director Mark Herrier, Stars Jill Schoelen, Derek Rydall, Dee Wallace, Malcolm Danare, Ivette Soler, and Elliott Hurst, Special Makeup Effects Artist Mat Falls, Composer Paul Zaza, and Distributor Executive Jonathan Wolf (55 mins, HD) Electric Memories – An Interview with Actor Bruce Glover Original Theatrical Trailer, Television Trailer and TV Spots Still Gallery Liner Notes and Cover Copy from Michael Gingold English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Cover art by Justin Osbourn/Slasher Design This one is expected for release this March 7th."

I want this, but of course I won't get the steelbook since I don't buy anything online. Yay.

I understand the not wanting to buy online deal, maybe it'll pop up on E-Bay or something. I could get it for you there if it does if you want.

Yes sir. I'll get it for you right from their site if you want, but I think it would be cheaper to wait and see if it hits E-bay.

These things are NEVER cheaper on ebay, especially a film people have been waiting to get a re-release aa long as this one. You'll be lucky to find it for less than double the price, like what happened with the Demons and Demons 2 steel books.

Needless to say, I already ordered mine. I've been waiting 20 years to see this damn movie.

I am not at all surprised.
I guess if it gets a regular BD release I'd be fine with it as well. I'm not as much a collector of collector's editions rather than collecting the movie itself.

Dude, I remember some kid telling me about this movie in like...2nd grade, and I didn't believe him when he told me about it until I saw the box at the local vhs store. Never saw about it again until it was on one of the premium channels I didn't get at the time. Finally, it's coming out on a format I can see. Hopefully it's been worth the wait.

Well, saving $5 doesn't really do much, might as well order from the source for that.

Yeah, plus it'll have been viewed once, so not sealed. But, stuff like this can be found if you look. Wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up cheaper after the official release. Just pointing out that it is cheaper on E-bay, not double the price. $5 cheaper is still $5, so me being a cheapskate, it works for me.

But with $6 shipping, that really doesn't amount to anything, at least I don't feel like it does. Plus I just love Synapse, so I'd rather give them my money than some random guy.

Yeah. I really need to think occasionally. That makes a lot of sense.
