Rating: 2 of 5This week i was able to sit down with my kids and enjoy a wonderful moment in there life, the moment that Freddy Kruger is the second most scary person in the world to them. Obviously i am number one when they do something dumb. They seemed to enjoy the underside of the blankets more then this film and if i had a blanket myself i'm sure counting the stitch count would have been just as entertaining as this film. This was a remake that took no chances, shot the same film, and made Freddy a child molester. No he was not a child molester in the original that decision was made a no due to real life events at the time that film was made. The movie waste no time getting things rolling. Springwood is as we remember it with nothing happening except kids always finding new ways to kill themselves. No one ever expects a thing because every kids is an outcast and is an insomniac... Fun fact: this scene happened before the title scene. We get glimpses of things that we aren't sure what they are or what they mean, This is a trend throughout the movie. Its like one giant puzzle that we spend our time trying to put together for these people of Springwood. As we continue on we realize we are putting a puzzle together of our victims past. We don't know exactly what it is that is hiding yet but we know that it must be relevant to the salvation of these people. The point of seeking the secret that has been covered up is drilled into our head, so much so that when we meet our killer he stops killing to ask "can you turn back time" or "can you change history" we get the idea that this secret is some action that royally screwed our killer and he is out for vengeance. We began seeking help from anyone with possible answers even the dead. Every page turned and every website viewed is more confusing yet more helpful then the lies we get from the people trying to keep their actions of the past a secret. The truth will set you free.. or in this case really mess you up. Once we learn the terrible secret we learn at the same time the actions or justice taken may have been for a false crime. How can you turn back time to change history for someone who wants to kill you. You try to clear his name... a name that has been erased from all existence, maybe we now are just trying to get closure for ourselves to make amends and hopefully that will solve all the issues.. Nope turns out he did touch you there and now is going to kill you.. "Please don't stab me there MR. Freddy"Luckily these kids of Springwood are good at figuring things out and come up with a way to over come this monster that haunts our dreams.. Took a whole movie to find out one seceret but in 2 minutes found a way to kill him.. aint that a bi*#& Then they burned everything, everything that they knew was real and could prove that they weren't insane.. they burned... but no one cares because movie. Then it turns out that a dead guy that was killing you in your dreams can't be brought back to life for you to kill him because it just starts the entire process over again..DUH

I really wanted to like this movie more than I did. I thought more info on Freddy's background, how he got the way he was etc. would be interesting, and to an extent it was. But, this one has nothing on the original to me, it kills this one IMO. Try as they might, they couldn't beat the original, which is often the case. Anyway, nice review and nicely presented!

The film was a waste, but they made it for the new generation, it brought people into the movies not only that younger generation but the older generation too. they didn't need to make it but hollywood hasn't been able to create a slasher king like jason or freddy so they just remkae them. 1984 release - Box office: 25.5 million USD 2010 release - Box office: 115.6 million USD I honestly wanted to make this a video review but i feel my sarcastic style would come off as a rip off of cinema sins who is fairly popular for being a sarcastic walk through of a film.
