Just curious what everyone's favorite movie ever is, if you can even pick one favorite.

My favorite movie of all time is Clue, and I doubt it will ever change. It's been my favorite movie for about 20 years. Throughout the last 20 years, I'll see a movie for the first time and I'll be so high on it that I'll feel like that movie rivals Clue or might have even surpassed it, but they never stand the test of time the way Clue has for me. I think I saw it at the right age and grew to love it even more as I got older, understood it better, and kept up with its fast pace and comedy. People that know me pretty well know that I am a huge movie fan, and they have a good idea of the movies I enjoy. Which tend to be nearly anything horror related (especially pre-1990s), classic comedies or noir-style flicks. Everyone is always blown away that out of all the movies I own and have seen, that Clue is the one that makes the final cut. Most I know haven't even heard of it, let alone seen it. I can't really put into words exactly why Clue is my favorite movie ever, or why it's always stayed a cut above all the others. But I guess you don't really pick your favorite movies. Your favorite movies pick you.

"Too late."

Subject to change at my discretion, but my favorite non horror movie right now is Vacation from 1983 and my favorite horror movie is The Thing from 1982. For now...Death Proof is climbing.

Fantastic choices. Not sure I could choose just one. But . . . if someone held a gun to my head and I HAD to? I would probably say STAND BY ME.

On my birthday I went with gorepolice to the Nitehawk in Brooklyn to catch a midnight viewing of Grindhouse. First time I ever saw the movie in its true form, even though I've watched the ever living ish out of both Planet Terror and Death Proof.

"Well, to make a long story short..." "Too late." Could there have been a better short response to my post? Probably not.

My "comedy big three" are Fletch, Vacation and Dumb & Dumber. No particular order I don't think. Chevy Chase in the 80s, I don't think anybody was funnier. Problem with comedy today is everybody is clearly trying too hard. Guys like Chevy were just naturally funny, not afraid to make an "OK" joke. He was so brilliant. Probably my favorite comedic actor ever.

I'm the biggest horror fan I've ever known personally. And out of all the Stephen King books-turned-movies I've ever seen, Stand By Me wins. It is definitely a 5-star flick for me, and I RARELY give away 5 stars. Beautiful movie. I always sing along when the boys jump in with that Impalas song: Sorry (I Ran All The Way Home) toward the beginning. Matter of fact, I have a small story to tell. I am a truck driver. I haul cement. I was making a delivery a couple of months ago out in a small deserted area. Private houses, a lot of desert between each house. I saw a group of young teens walking together, carrying a stick or two, chatting, joking, playing around. And it totally looked like a FULL ON reenactment of Stand By Me. It was beautiful to see. How we all yearn for our youth, am I right? I almost wanted to jump out of my truck and tell them to enjoy every great moment of their lives at their age, because it is their twilight years. And I am "only" 29. I am never going to forget that moment as long as I live. It was only a couple of months ago, and I guarantee those youngsters have absolutely no recollection of me or my truck that day. I miss the carelessness we had in our younger days.

Thanks for sharing, Jason! (and I apologize for the two-month delay getting back to you . . . I've been away from the forum for a while) Very, very cool.

For as long as I can remember, it was Aliens. But this year, I found a movie that I think will be my new favorite forever.
The movie I speak of, is Streets of Fire.
