Hearing some good stuff about this from people that have seen it at festivals. Some have said there's some questions, but all have said good movie and Michael is a beast in this one. Guess I'm watching it...as if there was ever really a doubt.

@endo
I agree with you about seeing some movies at home. I've gotten to where I'm a little more picky about what I'll see in theaters because it has gotten so much more expensive to see a movie in theaters. There some times I'll just see a movie at home and just order a pizza or something and it'll still be a lot cheaper than going to the theater. Not only can you pause the movie if you need to go to the bathroom (when you're watching a movie at home) but you don't have to deal with rude people talking during a movie. There's a lot more privacy and comfort by watching a movie at home.
Anyway, back on topic....I do plan on seeing this movie and I would like to see it when it comes out in theaters. I might end up going by myself when it comes out though.

I was just talking to a kid at work about this film. I told him i'm probably going to watch it he then said "Rob zombie's version was the best" i told him he should watch season of the witch and walked away. It's been a long time since i have bought a horror film this might be the one im holding out for

As far as revisionist/retconning sequels go, this one is pretty good. Probably my favorite version of Laurie Strode. Much more of a presence than say the first two. In the sense that Dr. Loomis was the big presence against Michael throughout the earlier movies.
I am still surprised this came from David Gordon Green and Danny McBride. Not only that, they already have two other movies planned, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. Not as excited for those, to be honest. Would have been completely fine with ending the whole series here to maybe wait for a reboot 10, 15 years from now.
I think why people weren't so excited for this one, because they already had that excitement way back with H20. The first time Jamie Lee Curtis came back to the series. Then she did Resurrection, and held off for years until this one.
This sequel doesn't always work. A few characters need more development and others just needed to be handled differently. Overall, though, a solid effort.
I do love the fact John Carpenter updated his own score from his original movie with the help of his son. Cool stuff.
