Both movies are awesome but I honestly like the 1988 film a little better because of the special f/x and as much as I like Steve Mcqueen I like Kevin Dillon as the lead a little bit better. Also a late 80's film which I really love because it reminds me of the early days when I was just getting in to films. Which one do you guys like better?

Both are good but I have to agree with you that the 88 version is better. The original was cool and had some nice suspense to it but the 88 version had better acting and effects.

You should definitely give it a watch. It's got some amazing practical effects in it.

Remake, all the way.
The kills in that one. Scared me as a kid. Terrifying. Especially the one in the sewer.
I haven't seen the original for a while, but I just know it's not going to win me over the way in which the remake did. Not even on rewatching it a dozen times.

DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
Both these films are fantastic. I'm not choosing.
