Dunno, looks like a play on the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. Wonder how they got the rights from Hanna Barbera to do it? Can't be a lot of money in this.

I thought 5 Nights as well. Feels a few years too late for that, though

Yeah. I actually looked and was surprised there was no FNAF movie by now, though I read one is still in the works.

I think I read or heard from somewhere that the studio that produced this film was going to make a Five Nights at Freddy's movie but were losing the rights to it soon and decided to combine that idea with The Banana Splits property. From the trailer and clips I've seen of this movie online, I'm not interested in seeing it as a whole. SyFy movies aren't exactly my cup of tea. Typically.
I don't know why the Splits had to be animatronic. Could have been murderous cast members. The Chuck E. Cheese animatronics are scarier, in my opinion.
A pizza party gone wrong rather than a live show seems more logical, in that regard.
Outside of that, doesn't appeal to me.
What would have been better, storywise, if the parents grew up with The Banana Splits instead of their kid and the whole point of the movie was not to shove your childhood onto your kid's would have made for a better story.

This movie was so stupid, and I loved every ridiculous minute of it. It's not too long, so it doesn't overstay its welcome, and the kills are satisfyingly bloody. I got it for cheap and feel like I got my money's worth.
