I agree with pretty much everything he said. I love the movie, it's one of my all time favorites. But, I loved the mini-series too. I liked how the mini-series was a little more accurate and more like the book than the movie with the hedge animals and the bees nest that Danny finds. Plus, you always get the feeling that Jack was already a little unstable mentally when they arrived at the Overlook in the movie. Steven Weber comes off like a guy who knows this might be his last shot to turn his life around, and is slowly driven insane by the hotel.
Both are great in their own rights. I like the movie more, but the mini-series was really well done. Looking back at it now, it's cheesy in spots and the guy is right about the older Danny. Plus, I wanted to kill the kid that played young Danny, he was the worst part of the whole series for me. But, I thought it was pretty good overall and more like King wrote it and wanted it to be. Now I want to go watch them both!
