“When the Chase family moves to an isolated house in the middle of nowhere in Detroit, Arkin is hired to fix the windows and the doors. Later he meets his daughter and his wife that has a debt with dangerous sharks and needs money, but his week payment is not enough to pay her debts. Arkin plots to heist the safe of Michael Chase during the night to raise the necessary money. However, when he arrives in the house, he finds that a sadistic criminal has imprisoned the family and planted traps everywhere. Arkin seeks a way out of the deadly house to save his life.” Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil My sister watched this in theaters and has been telling me to watch it for the past two years; finally I gave in and decided to watch it. It took me this long to watch it because I don’t have much interest in torture movies anymore. And this did nothing to change that. There is rarely a decent plot or decent characters in torture movies so I struggle to sit through them. I’m not bothered by the blood and gore but killing people for the sake of killing people isn’t my cup of tea. Torture movies are basically a contest to see who will push the envelope the farthest. The success of Saw and all the other movies like it prove that there’s a large group of people willing to watch these types of movies but I’m not one of them anymore. What I really want to see is a torture movie where none of the cleverly created traps work. Has there even been one? If so, what is it called? Take the idea behind Tucker and Dale vs. Evil and incorporate it into a torture movie. Anyway, if you like torture movies this will be right up your alley.

I rented this from Netflix when my account was still active and I loved it. The plot wasn't really there but it had been so long since I saw a movie with decent gore in it that it really hit the spot for me.

I would have probably liked it more if I watched it when it came out but I've seen entirely too many torture movies over the past two years so I didn't have much interest in this one.

I saw this. Got it when it first came out. I thought it was OK, but I was expecting more. I thought it would be more hardcore, and yeah...it was kind of lacking substance in the plot area. Some good killing scenes though.

I liked it and would watch it again. Got it for $4 when Blockbuster was going out of business.

$4 movies are awesome! I'm waiting for the day the Blockbuster here goes out of business so I can go in there and drop $100 on movies, lol.

I wish I had known sooner. What was left was mostly crap, but I got about 10 decent to good movies out of it.

That's not bad. I'll have to drive past Blockbuster every day on the way to work so I'll be checking for a going out of business sign every day, lol.

I missed the boat on that one. Our Blockbuster was the other way than the route I go to work on. I remember getting something saying they were closing and by the time I got out there they were done.

Happened to me with the Borders by Penn Station. Oh well, there will always be a store going out of business somewhere that I can buy stuff from.

There's a store here called Hastings and if it ever goes out of business, I just want to buy the building and everything in it.

I see them all the time on Amazon when it comes to perusing dvds and comics. Might take advantage of them now.
