Probably posted this before, but it's one of the best face turns ever, so here it is again.
Jimmy Snuka came into the WWF as a monster heel. I had never seen him except in the magazines, but I knew he was big in the Mid Atlantic area and had won the US title and the NWA World Tag Team title there, one time with Ray Stevens and another with Paul Orndorff. He came in with Lou Albano as his manager and got instant heat, especially with his finishing move, the body press from the top rope, which earned him the nick name "Superfly". He had some great matches against WWF champion Bob Backlund, notably the cage match where Snuka attempted his body press from the top of the cage and missed.
Even as a heel, he was popular with the fans, and more and more fans began to cheer him during his matches. I guess the WWF noticed, because they started one of the best angles ever. Long story short, Buddy Rodgers, the original Nature Boy, came in saying Albano had been ripping Snuka off and stealing his money, and it just escalated from there. I'll let the video tell the story. Sorry, best quality I could find. Also, bear in mind this is 1982. Some comments certainly wouldn't be acceptable today, but it was a different time.
