It was reported last month that Sid Haig had suffered a fall and was in the hospital, then had an issue in the hospital that landed him in ICU. But, it had been reported that he was doing much better, so this comes as kind of a shock.
He's been in a ton of movies and shows, but is probably best known for his role as Captain Spaulding in the Rob Zombie films. Sad news. RIP and condolences to his family and friends.
His wife posted this on Instagram:
"On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us. We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected. Sidney Eddie Mosesian 7/14/39 - 9/21/19 Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend. Goodnight, my love. We will find each other again, next time. I love you."

I just saw a video on YouTube tonight, RIP Sid Haig - A Tribute, and thought it was a joke. I'm really shocked to learn of his death and also that he was 80 years old, I thought he was a lot younger than that.
RIP Captain Spaulding, thanks for all the thrills and chills.
Nice tribute, some F bombs, not for children ...

I didn't know he was 80 either, and then I read he was doing so much better. Very unexpected. Lot's of movies and looking at his younger appearances, I might have already seen some, just didn't realize it was him. Gonna watch a lot from his IMDB.
