Let me see if I can find others, then. Shame, they should have worked for you.

Just finished the third issue. Really awesome. Can't believe I wasn't reading this before now.

Just be ready for the art to change in issue 7. Here, an example of Charlie Adlard's art.

Why the switch? In the letters page it made it sound like Tony Moore was on board for the duration. Can't wait to get to that issue and see the difference in the book.

Dunno, Moore's never been on a title for long, he's slow. And for a long time, TWD went through a lot of delay issues. Adlard's been on the series since then, though. Which is good. Moore did covers for the first 24 issues, though.

Huh. Good gig, wonder why Moore would bail on it? Of course if he was holding it up, maybe it was Kirkman who pulled the plug. Either way, can't wait to see the difference in the artwork.

In an interview, Kirkman stated:
"My dream artist is Charlie Adlard, really. Tony drew the first six issues [of The Walking Dead] and the first 24 covers. Tony is an amazing artist who I 've known since the 7th grade and have worked with on numerous projects. Tony brought a lot to the table for the first volume of this series and I don't think anyone can deny that he' s a fantastic artist. The problem was he couldn't keep on schedule with the book, it took him almost a year to do the first six issues and the schedule was starting to catch up to us.
"Tony was getting other offers on other books with looser deadlines and so it was decided that he would move on and just do covers. When it came time to replace Tony I looked at a few artists before I settled on Charlie simply because I didn't think Charlie would do it."

Wow, that's a ringing endorsement for Adlard. Looking forward to reading it with his art. Sounds like Kirkland and Moore parted on good terms too, win win.

Moore is very talented, but he can't keep a schedule. Even when drawing Franken-Castle, he had to have Roland Boshi cover for him on 2 issues.

The back of every HC book has a very noticeably inspiring illustration. Each one different. Example.

Nice!! I like that. I think the one you did for me is as good if not better, but that's neither here nor there.

Hope to buy some new books in the upcoming weeks. I miss this series and want to catch up. Been a long time since I read it though, so I think I'll start from the beginning when I do.

I'll probably do the same when I get book 7. Well, whenever I get a chance to order it, then wait for it, and finish reading my Death's Head books, plus I still have to finish 2 Essential Ghost Rider and a DC Showcase book...
crap, I don't think I'll be done until June.

Oh, and remember, the Rise of the Governor novel is out. TWD will have 3 novels coming out expanding the comic-verse Kirkman established, and this is the first of them, covering how the Governor became the evil sonuvabitch we all know and hate.
I think I'll be ordering the HC to have that nice collected look going on with the books.

Ooo, thanks for the reminder Scott. I'll definitely add that one to my Amazon list.
