That's exactly what it was. They saw Michael was missing and went nuts, even though the film itself was pretty good. Oh well, Michael was marketable and they brought him back to save the franchise. All we can do is imagine what could have been.

I used to place this higher in my ordering of these films, but over the years my ranking of 2 has gone down.
As it stands: Halloween (orig.) > 4 > 3 > '18 sequel > 2 > Rob Zombie's H2 > H20 > Rob Zombie's Halloween > 6 > 5 > Resurrection
My biggest problem with this first sequel isn't the retcon of relating Michael and Laurie together, that works and it doesn't, but I hate how the hospital is way, way underused. So many more people work in a hospital than that. Even in a local one. I don't know. Just bothers me. Enough to demote it.
