In the history of film making, it's hard to find another movie in the horror film genre so awful that it can hold a candle to Ed Wood's Orgy of the Dead. It's got all of Wood's classic quirky touches, i.e. major continuity flaws, dreadful dialog, awful actors that sound like they're reading their lines from cue cards, bad music, the phoniest looking props you've ever seen and a sub-moronic plot. But hey, it's an Ed Wood movie and like the proverbial train wreck, you don't really want to see the carnage, but you can't seem to look away. For those of you who have never had the "pleasure" of viewing this unintentionally hilarious stink bomb, I'll try to give you a synopsis of the "plot" -- A writer who is looking for inspiration for his next monster story, takes a long drive on a winding mountain road in search of an ancient cemetery. He has brought his girlfriend with him, but as night falls, she becomes increasingly nervous about going to the cemetery and begs him to turn the car around and head back for home. While looking for a place wide enough to turn the car around, for some incomprehensible reason, he drives faster and faster and the car goes off the road and crashes. Cut to a scene of the couple who have been thrown from the wreckage which, incidentally, is nowhere in sight. They are laying beside each other with nary a hair out of place and, as luck would have it, wouldn't you know they just happened to crash right near the cemetery he had been searching for. After they pull themselves together, they hear music coming from the cemetery and follow the sound figuring a worker was there and they could ask him for help. When they arrive, they peek through the bushes and see a caped man seated on the steps of a mausoleum with a ghoulish woman standing beside him. They are viewing semi-naked women who have been summoned one by one from their graves to dance for this man. After awhile, a wolfman and mummy discover and grab the couple hiding in the bushes and bring them before the caped man. He has them both bound and forces them to watch the women dance. Apparently the dancers have to please the caped man who has control over whether or not they go to hell for the crimes they committed in life. Confused yet - wait it gets ever so much weirder. If you happen to be a fan of Ed Wood movies or just want a good laugh, look for it on Youtube - the entire movie is there (see link below). Note - it is not suitable for children - hell, I'm not sure it's even suitable for adults! Here are some clips just for sh!ts and giggles... You can find the entire movie on this person's channel, type in Orgy of the Dead in his search and it will bring up monster, horror chiller - that's the movie... www.youtube.com/user/revhal2000

I know this is also a really pathetic looking wolfman in this movie as well. You can see the guy's neck coming out of the mask.

Plan 9 makes me sad for Lugosi. Great bad movie and all, but man...he was reduced to that? I do like how after Lugosi passed during filming they just put a guy in a cape and had him cover his face with it the rest of the movie, lol. That's making due with what you've got.

Ah yes, the chiropractor that kinda sorta looked like Lugosi...a little. I love the part where he karate chops the guy, the cape falls and he has to quickly snatch it back up. Hilarious.
