Mostly known for her classic role as The Bride Of Frankenstein in 1935, she has done other horror. Notably The Ghost Goes West, The Spiral Staircase, Willard, Terror In The Wax Museum, and Arnold. Another old school scream queen who is really underrated. Glad to include her in the Women Of Horror section.

Very nice to have her in here. Bride Of Frankenstein is one of my favorite movies.

She was a ground breaker. Very pretty, even in The Bride Of Frankenstein where they tried to make her look ugly.

Good to see her on here. Elsa was such a ground-breaker, but underrated probably because she was in the shadow of her much more famous husband. According to legend, Elsa flashed The Bride of Frankenstein crew while dressed as the bride Not sure how true that is, but it's still a good story.

That is good stuff, lol. That's amazing actually for the time period when women seemed so modest. I'd like to see a pic of that, lol. Just for nostalgia purposes of course.

Yes there were quite a few shocking rumours about Elsa and quite a few seem to have originated from her husband Charles Laughton, who also hated her friend and BOF director, James Whale. I have a few Bride of Frankenstein photos, but Elsa flashing isn't in there, lol. I was thought it was a nice touch that she also played Mary Shelley at the beginning.

she also played Mary Shelley at the beginning. I never even realized that was her. Awesome. I'm sure I'll be watching it again soon with Halloween coming, and now that I know it'll probably smack me in the face that it's her, lol. Thanks.

She just enforces a goth fetish rather than detract from it.

Always did have a thing for goth chicks, and she was more than likely why.

An absolute talent. I love her movies. The ones I've seen. Rembrandt was really great. Her and Charles Laughton, even though he wasn't straight, made a great couple. Onscreen and off.
I love the Bride of Frankenstein. Even have one big silk scarf hung up on my wall.
I got her book, Herself, and that was such a joy to read.
One of my favorite classic movie ladies.
Very understated.
