They still sell some of those.
Somewhere.
As coasters.

There's a few stores in the city that still sell HD-DVD's and I wonder why.

For us to make fun of. Honestly. That's the only reason their can be for that.
As for Blu-Ray, just was the first TMNT movie from 1990. I am blown away. Amazing. Checked out quickly some of my other dvds because this one gave me troubles for a few minutes... Pulp Fiction is scary crisp. And the preview for Reservoir Dogs made me need that in BR. Like, no question, that is a must purchase ASAP.

I need to upgrade my TMNT pack, and from that stellar review, glad I got my Reservoir Dogs on blu-ray.
Still need to update my Nightmare on Elm Street as well.

If you do, can I have the original? A fan of the film (or if you're talking remake, I really want to see it), but not enough to go BR with them.
And I just noticed how this topic has come full circle and has come back to Nightmare on Elm Street.

Yes as part of the staff I have faith that topics will come back.. no need to mod. LOL.... But back on topic what did the remake do better than the original besides the back story of Fred. I would have to say the classroom dream, the transition was nice with the way everything just decayed

Been a while since I've seen it. I think they just wanted to make Freddy seem more evil and serious than the original. What makes me scratch my head though, is that in the original he was already pretty bad ass, and not nearly as campy and trying to be funny as the sequels. Makes me wonder again why they felt a remake was necessary, other than the obvious reason of putting money in their pockets.

Maybe Hollywood wants to remake all the classic franchises...

Well, it's obvious they'd rather do that than come up with any good, new ideas. Getting really tired of the remakes of movies that didn't need them. I had high hopes for The Thing cause it was a prequel and I can get behind that. Too bad from all accounts that movie stinks.

Well I don't see it having a connection here but the reason hellraiser revelation was made was so the company could keep the rights to make a real hellraiser (so I have read)

so, if Hellraiser Revelations wasn't made, they would have lost the rights to the franchise, someone else would have picked it up and most likely rebooted it? Might not have been a bad thing, from what I hear about that movie.
Not that I've ever seen a Hellraiser film (that I recall).

They have had a remake in the process for some time but would lose the right to the franchise before they even started there remake so they dished out 300 bucks and a week to make revelations to keep the franchise (budget and time exaggerated) but from the quality of the film I could be correct

Ooh, now you make me want to see this.
So the company is planning a reboot, but to keep the franchise they made one last sequel? Almost sounds like why we're getting a Ghost Rider 2, so Sony don't lose the rights.
