Dark Horse, over the last 7 or so years, has established a quirky universe in which dogs and cats fight the supernatural. Yeah, you read that right. Starting off as a series of short stories presented in various hardcover horror anthologies, Beasts of Burden follow a pack of canines, as well as one lone cat they've come to accept as one of their own who have to deal with random supernatural events in their little town of Burden Hill. These tails lead to a 4 issue mini series in 2009, which follows up the previous anthology tales. You have read 3 of 4 anthology stories here for free, the first three in the series: www.darkhorse.com/Features/eComics/1090/Beasts-of-Burden?The stories are written by Evan Dorkin (of Milk & Cheese fame) and illustrated by the magnificent Jill Thompson (of Sandman and Scary Godmother fame). I've read all but the 4th anthology tale tonight (going to get into that now) and have decided I must own the hardcover book collecting all these stories, and more. Just a great, fun read that mixes humor and horror. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it is worth at least reading the freebies above to see how you feel about it.

It doesn't get much quirkier than that! Gonna check these out after work, sounds pretty entertaining.

I'll read em too, after the games. Looks OK and sounds interesting.
