I had to go with undecided, since I haven't seen the new one yet. I love the original in all it's cheesy goodness, and I'm hoping the new one doesn't ruin the story. In the queue, just waiting for it arrive at NetFlix. I'll amend my vote after I see the new one.

It's only On Demand right now, I think. And, I'm not paying $7.99 to see it when I can wait a few weeks and see it for change from NetFlix.

Heard the same thing about this one and The Thing, but because I love the orginals so much I have to see them for myself.

Haven't seen either. I didn't even know DbAotD was a remake until earlier this week.

The original was a made for TV movie in the 70's and I loved it as a kid. Not as great to me now, since now I can realize how cheaply made it was and how cheesy the "monsters" are, but I still love it for the nostalgia factor.
Was pumped when I heard about the remake, much like I was about The Thing remake, or prequel. Sadly, neither have been well received it seems.

Well its from the guy that brought us the orphanage and pans labyrith? Damn I miss spelled that but the guy is a hardcore fan of the tv movie and put his own twist on it.. so some respect because he did take a long time to work on it... I've can't recall the original but I don't remember a child as the star but it works netflix yea sure buy or on demand Nooooo pass will I tell friends about this one not really but if its a boring day yea ill pop it in.. if its worth anything I watched this film two days in a row and could probably see it one more time before it sits in the cd wallet for a couple of months.

I'll get it from Netflix then. The original is probably a so bad it's good movie, but with a cool premise. No child at all in the original, either. Looking forward to seeing this now, and comparing the two.

have gone with the original. i saw the remake a cpl of weeks ago and it was complete pants. I think I wrote something on the lovefilm review page along the lines of "the only thing scary about this movie was katie holmes acting, so at least being married to tom cruise proved useful in the end". nuff said.
