"A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race." Could have sworn I already posted this. Wow. Well, here it is...again?

Oh, a little different here. At the bottom, you can move the posts to another thread/topic. Never tried moving a topic to another topic, just moved the posts and deleted the unused topic.
Damn, that was supposed to be kayfabe;)

So, seeing the new 2 minute plus trailer, a few things seems to set this in the same reality as Alien. I know it was said to be, but this feels a bit like confirmation. Or wishful thinking. The mummified space jockey from Alien (1979): And this from the trailer: And then this: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh boy, I can't wait to see this film.

From Wikipedia, so take it for what it's worth:
Conceived as a prequel to Scott's 1979 science fiction horror film Alien, rewrites of Spaihts' script by Lindelof developed a separate story that precedes the events of Alien, but which is not directly connected to the films in the Alien franchise. According to Scott, though the film shares "strands of Alien's DNA, so to speak", and takes place in the same universe, Prometheus will explore its own mythology and ideas.
So those connections you made seem to be legit.

I've read the same before, which is what got me interested in this film (especially the fact it's not a direct prequel, which actually put me off the idea at first). So seeing these connections in the trailer only solidify it for me, and makes me want to see the film more.
Someone had to point out the encased looking xenomorph to me, but I noticed the space jockey last night when I first watched the trailer.
Seen here (2:32):

This was a movie I really wanted to see - did anyone here ever get to see it? What did you think of it?
