Again, started watching this last night and the DVD was in bad shape from NetFlix.
How does a brand new movie get so messed up? Anyway, didn't get far into it, so that's cool. Replacement on the way. Second time in a row from NetFlix.
What I saw was already over the top with the CGI and I didn't make a dent in it. More when I've seen the whole movie.

Could be a pressing issue. I bought a dvd called BMWMovies.com Presents, The Hire. It has 8 short films (one posted here on the forum) and 2 of the 8 flicks did not work. It's just the way film was pressed. And instead of fixing it, oh well. And it's OOP, so this isn't easily remedied. Shame, too, because some of these films are great.

I actually liked this movie. In the other movies the apes were the bad guys, but this does a good job of making you feel bad for them and happy for them by the time the movie ends. The ending is good too, showing how it becomes the "Planet of the Apes".

The trailer I saw with the chimp protecting Lithgow was awesome, even with all the CGI. I'm looking forward to seeing it all the way through.

The CGI didn't bother me at all. Some movies the CGI takes away from the movie, The Green Lantern's CGI bugged me a lot for example (Ryan Reynolds blows too).

I like Ryan Reynolds (I know, I know), but even I'm not willing to check that out unless I can see it for free or, maybe if I'm desperate to buy something because I have a mental illness about ish like that, get it for a buck.

I bought it on Blu-Ray a few weeks ago. I only liked Ryan Reynolds in 2 Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place and Van Wilder. He was good when he was on Family Guy a season or two ago though, pretty damn funny.

The CGI was over the top in the beginning of the flick, but it seems to calm down after the first half hour or so. I actually thought the movie was pretty good myself, and I went into it thinking I would hate it.

I watched it with my sister's when I got it for Christmas. They both cried at the beginning cause the way the apes were being treated lol. Felt the need to buy something. It was shiny and caught my eye.

I was talking about Apes. Started off not liking it, but after the CGI overload of the beginning it got better. Some pretty damn awesome scenes and well worth watching at least once.
Green Lantern on the other hand was complete trash.
