Argento's classic Suspira is a gem of a film. I just love it! The use of light/coloured filters, long drawn out kill pieces, camera work and direction all create an atmospheric master piece. Suspiria is actually part of a trilogy called The Three Mothers which includes Argento's Inferno and The Mother of Tears. I remember seeing it for the first time about 20 years a go on VHS. It blew me away then, and it still keeps me gripped. The acting is typical for this Italian period, but thats only to expected. Ive since had several other versions of it and to date ive got the version i posted above. The colours looks awesome! One day i'll get the bluray of it but for now im quite happy with the dvd. It may seem odd to set the film within a ballet school, but it just works. The big gothic type building, strange characters and unsettling musical score all add to the films character. Not to mention it has witches, too.

I remember watching this with a friend and not enjoying it one bit. The music kept building and building up suspense only for absolutely nothing to happen. I recall it being a big convoluted mess.
Then again I watched it at a time before I had real appreciate for films, so perhaps another viewing is in order to see if I like it now.

I have never seen this film. I want to, however. I've not seen many of his films, if any he's directed. Just stuff he's been associated with, like Demons and Demons 2 (thanks to the above poster).

HERES the opening death scene to wet your appetite. Very nicely done. I have never seen this film. I want to, however. I've not seen many of his films, if any he's directed. It's widely regarded as his most important work for the horror genre.

Watched this last week with a group as usual, and I liked it a lot more this time around. Definitely one I'd like to own.

Just added the YouTube channel to the Roku so I can watch on my TV. Watching the crap out of the Tales From The Crypt episodes lately.

Actually already had this in my DVD queue, so I think I'll kick off the first day of the 31 Nights of Halloween with it. Gotta finish Sci-Fi September first and I'm behind.

wow I watched this years and years ago as a bored teenager wanting to be freaked out. I remember being a bit bored. probably did nt really appreciate it for what it was being only 12/13. I think Argento's work is more like intellectual horror if you get my drift..... realy need to pay attention and get into it as a film rather then just as a typical splatterfest
