The F.E.A.R. series is a series of horror video games. There are three main titles released so far as well as two expansions.
Ever since I tried out the first game at a local gaming center where you pay to play games in hour segments, I have been a hardcore fan of the series.
The first may be the scariest, with the third coming in second, but all of them are great games. What's dope is that it is an FPS, if it was third-person it isn't as up close and personal and therefore less scary and realistic.
It uses a lot of psychological horror (visions, creepy little girl named Alma who the whole plot revolves around) and also intense gore (a shotgun blast to the head or gut equals splatter of blood and body parts).
Anyway, anyone who likes horror and has a gaming console should get this. Even the first one, whose graphics are a bit dated (it was released in 05 or 06), because it's a classic.
F.E.A.R. 4 is definitely a game I'm looking forward to, but no official release date yet.

I tried it out but I think the controls are a bit too complex for a console. Way too many buttons for my liking. I think this game works better on a PC, unfortunately I'm strictly a console person when it comes to playing video games.

I have the first one for PC, and had it for the 360. I agree it was too complicated for me on the 360, but I don't play games like this on it for the most part. Mostly Madden on the 360. Love FEAR on the PC though. Actually just re-installed it Sunday and have been playing it again. Fun and scary game.

Lol How was it too complicated? It had exactly the same buttons as any other first person shooter...

It's complicated to me because I don't play first person shooters.

Ah, well I love first person shooters. And why is this thread moved to Games? I purposely posted in General Horror because this is a horror game, and there isnt a board for horror games, and the Wasteland is an off topic section and this thread is ON topic so it seems like it'd fit in General Horror.

I don't do FPS games much either, Doom maybe. On the 360, that is. I play a bit more of them on PC. Currently playing Dark Sector, that's a pretty fun one.
I moved it to the gaming section, because it's a game. But, you do have a valid point about not having a horror games section, and you're right, The Wasteland is an off topic section. Fair enough, back it goes.

Thanks. Yea, I like Zombie FPS's (obviously) and Call of Duty's Zombies is by far my favorite but Left 4 Dead is great too, just wish it had better graphics.

I've never played any of the F.E.A.R. games, but I have always wanted to play them. Been looking at some game trader stores around town trying to find the first one for cheap, but haven't had any luck.
Call of Duty's Zombies is pretty fun, but I suck really bad at 'em. Can only get to like round 6 or 7 on my own. Played with a couple guys online one time and we got to like the upper 20's because the other guys were really good.
I like the Left 4 Dead games too, but once you play it a few times it gets kind of old. I think they need more of a storyline than what they put out. Playing them online is the way to do it, but a lot of the people who play online are dicks and will just boot you from the game for no real reason.

FEAR should be cheap, or fairly cheap on Ebay. There are ways to get it free, but I don't want to be a bad influence, so I'll just leave it there. It's a good game, at least the first one. That's the only one I've played.

If you're an Xbox or PC player I could play Zombizzles with you and get you to the 40s and 50s plus depending on how much time you wanna spend playing. ;D

I suck at FPS games. The only one I've gotten good at was Borderlands, but even that had a mix of RPG to it to help my sorry ass out lol.

I borrowed it from a friend and had an absolute blast. Had to give it back recently but I think I'll buy myself a copy to hold me over until part 2 comes out.
