"20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries." www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/worlds-endFilming is expected to begin sometime in October 2012 in the UK. It's said that the characters will "crawl through twelve pubs, culminating in the final one, which is The World's End." The film's theme may involve an alien invasion since co-writer/director Edgar Wright dropped hints in a recent interview saying: "Social science-fiction. Look it up on Wikipedia and then bone up on John Christopher and John Wyndham." John Christopher AKA Samuel Youd wrote The Tripods, while John Wyndham did The Day of the Triffids and The Midwich Cuckoos, which would later be what we know as the Village of the Damned films. With these hints, it's easy to assume that there will be some sort of alien takeover/body snatchers-type theme. This is the final film in what Edgar Wright has dubbed the "The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy" aka "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy", where each film is filled with blood and at one point has a Cornetto ice cream flavor featured. The first was Shaun of the Dead, which had a red strawberry Cornetto and the second being Hot Fuzz, which offered a blue Classic flavor. This final installment will apparently have the characters at one point eat a "green mint chocolate chip ice-cream." This re-teams Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost once again after Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Described as a "social sci-fi comedy." In pre-production, supposed to release sometime in 2013.

I'm a fan of Pegg's work, so even if it wasn't from this team I'd probably try to see this.

This and A Fantastic Fear of Everything both sound OK to me. Pegg being in them helps a lot with that.

That's a big change, 2 months. Still, it's not like seeing a trailer for a film coming out in 2014, like we did last week,

For a film that shouldn't have been played to a theater full of people seeing Die Hard no less.
