Well, to be more accurate, What Was The Last Non-Horror Movie(s) You Watched? since we already have a board just for the last horror movies we've watched. This was one of my favorite threads over at, well, there (those who know what I'm talking about know what I'm talking about...) because we got to discuss movies we've seen without having to open individual threads about them when unnecessary.
So, I shall begin (since I started the thread).
Last week I saw The Dark Knight Rises, and I have to say, it was the best of the 3. I did not think it was possible, but it really proved to be a top quality film and was just a great time. I never once felt bored sitting through it, and hope to do so again soon.
And last night (this morning?), I saw a midnight screening of The Room, hosted by Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero. Went with Tomas and a few others, and it was my first time experiencing this. And it. Was. AMAZING! I've never had so much fun watching a movie. From the comments, to the jokes to the f*cking spoons, I couldn't get enough. I plan on doing this once every 6 months now. It might never live up to this one, meeting those who made it, but it's a trip I must experience again.
At the moment, I'm watching Tekkan. A video game movie. So I'm expecting little, but it was free. Thanks Tomas, I think. Oddly enough, I have seen bits of this before and completely forgot I did.

Huh, thought we had a thread on this. My bad...I like it.
Thanks Scott. Um... last non horror movie I saw was A Face in the Crowd with Andy Griffith. Not at all like a normal role for him where he's a nice guy and everyone loves him. He was quite the dick, and it was a really good movie. Props to the wife for forcing me to watch this. Glad I did.

Sometimes we need someone to push us to watch films we normally wouldn't. I like being able to sit through damn near anything. My erratic collection of dvds prove that.

I gravitate to horror, it's my thing. But the wife not being as big a horror fan as I am helps me stay somewhat diverse. The Blind Side was a great movie, and that was her pick, though I did want to see it being a football fan. But every bit of film noir I've seen is thanks to her. The Postman Always Rings Twice and Double Indemnity are two of my all time favorite movies.

Well, for work, I watched Kung-Fu Panda 2, which I wanted to see for a while. I enjoyed it, but really, not as good as the first. I still plan to own the BD, but I mush preferred the first film. A better told story.
Last night, I initiated my Substitute set with the first movie. Forgot it was 2 hours long. Still, a solid film I greatly enjoyed.
And now, I just finished Swordfish. Yeah, yeah, not a great film, but I like it. And Halle Berry's... eyes. Picked it up at a 99 Cent store for $3, and I think it was brand new (along with another dvd I happened to pick up). Which is strange because all the other dvds I've bought there have been used (and one royally F'ed up being 2 of the same discs in a 2 disc set. Boy, that angered me).

Swordfish is an OK movie. I saw it and liked it. Halle Berry helped a lot, lol. Getting the same disc in a 2 disc set would have made me mad as well, especially if I was pumped about seeing it. Guess not much you can do if you're not buying it new. Wonder if it came like that new, and the original owner just didn't bother to contact the distributor and get the right disc? You could always try that.

Well, I got to exchange the set (Season 3 of Mr. Show) for a what looks to be brand spanking new Dragon Dynasty 2 disc set of Fatal Contact. Slipcase and all. And then I bought the Swordfish disc and a used copy of Before the Devil Knows You're Dead for 6 and change.

Nice. Cool of them to let you exchange it.

It was.
Just watched Contagion (which I found at the Good Will for $3). I liked it, liked how the story was. Definitely an unnerving movie.

I really want to see that. That title...
Did a future Sci-Fi marathon with Tomas over the weekend where we enjoyed the original Total Recall, Minority Report and Demolition Man. Nice to watch GOOD movies for once.

Never seen Minority Report or Demolition man, but the original Total Recall is great. I'll have to see the other two.

You must. Both fantastic films. Demolition man is easily a top 20 for me.

Just added both of them to the queue. Looking forward to them, and I know the wife will appreciate it.

Just got out of a Rifftrax for Manos: The Hands of Fate. It was hilarious.
