I don't know if I like this or not yet, have to wait and see.
Here's part of the message I got from ProBoards...
" ProBoards v5 is our new forum software which includes numerous upgrades to your forum. This includes integrated forum notifications, live search (get results as you type your search!), a new single sign-on for all ProBoards forums, a fully revamped forum admin panel, a posting WYSIWYG editor, the ProBoards Avatar Maker, direct access to your forum's HTML templates, "Liking" posts, infinite sub-boards, @tagging members in posts, integrated shoutbox, personal messages with more than two people in the conversation, and literally hundreds more new features!"
Some features in there that are a little too...FaceBook like for me, but we'll see. We can't not upgrade, meaning we can't stay with the version we're on now while everyone else is upgraded. It's a ProBoards wide thing. The good thing that I've been reading over on the support site is that if there are features that we don't like, they can be turned off. I have a feeling the skin will have to be redone, and all codes added again, though they say they will try to transfer as much as possible when the time comes. Shouldn't lose any posts though.
So, probably near the end of the year. They do have a V5 Beta Zone coming soon, so I can see what it will look like and try to get codes and skin going before the official transfer to see what it'll look like and how it will work. I can also apparently give invites to folks who want to see as well, so I'll let you know when that happens. I'll keep you posted.

Well, we'll all be f*cked as a group then. It'll be like a bonding thing, we'll all suck together.
When did we have to modify f*ck ourselves? I thought it did that automatically? Wow, we are screwed.

Nope, I edit f*ck every time I post. Maybe you have to do some Admin magic to get it edited. Get to administrating, administrator!

In reading more about this version 5 thing approaching, it seems like it will be a fairly easy change. ProBoards is adamant that no posts will be lost, so that makes me feel better right there.
The skins and look of the forum, they're not so quick to say all will be the same, but if they get the beta out in enough time before the switch, we can be already prepared to get things back the way they were should it get changed. Switch to version 5 will happen by the years end, according to ProBoards, so the sooner the beta version comes the better. We're on the list and should be one of the first forums to get it when available. I'll post the link to it when I get it, that way we all have a say in what's cool, and what's not so much.
