But none of that crap is metal. I read a hipster comic book. I checked some of the music in it. It is horrible. I don't understand how people can listen to that tripe. I just can't.
But, I would love to kill a hipster zombie. All the satisfaction and none of the guilt.

Hipster and zombie are almost one and the same. They do things not because they like them, just because it's obscure. What a stupid way to live your life.

Didn't goths, emos, etc. etc. etc. claim to do the same for it all to eventually become the norm? Like hipsters now are?
Hell, that artist who drew that POS Scott Pilgram (what a wretched series of books) is now doing covers for Marvel. MARVEL! If it weren't for the likes of David Aja and Chris Samnee, I'd drop them.

That's what I like about us. I mean, we do like some obscure ish, but we get into it based on genuine interest. Plus, we're not (usually) embarrassed to admit liking things that others would deem uncool. If I like it, I like it, point blank.

I read Scott Pilgrim and I didn't like it. I'm surprised Brian Lee O'Malley is working for Marvel now to be sure his art I found to be tolerable at best. I could not tell one character from another without looking at what they were saying closely so I could identify who was who. That is a bad sign for an artist. In those books Scott and Ramona come off as irredeemable douche bags. I like the movie, and I really liked the downloadable beat-em-up game so I can't claim to hate Scott Pilgrim. As for the whole "hipster" thing, I don't see the point in hating stuff because it popular and liking crap because it's obscure. It's just stupid but then again, it's just the whole goth/emo/whatever fad all over again with different clothes and a different label. Like everything else it will pass except for a few people. If you genuinely like obscure things, that's good for you. If you like popular ish good for you.

This. This just killed it for me. I never wanted to smother anything more than I did Pilgrim and Ramona.

I wanted to punch them in their unidentifiable stupid faces all the damn time. The concept was good; the concept was damn funny. It was the execution where the comic failed and thank GOD Edgar Wright didn't follow the comic completely. He made the characters NOT total jerk bags but complete people who make mistakes but aren't deliberate assholes. But again, yeah. Assholes. The both of them were total assholes.

I knew I wouldn't be able to make it through Scott Pilgrim just by looking at the covers. I didn't enjoy the movie, but at least it was watchable.

If one of us BRAVES the sheer unadulterated awfulness of this and comes back and says it's comedy gold...I will be amazed.

If I find this in a dollar bin, I will bite the bullet and watch it. And if I survive, report back on it.
If I don't survive, I'm haunting you all until you die!
