Sorry, just wanted everyone to see this, lol. The forum hasn't been updated yet, but the way you log in will be a little different. Before the forum switches over I just thought it would be a good idea if everyone went and logged into the new forum, that way if anyone has issues getting in, this place is still here to get in touch and all. New forum is here... horrorsonline.freemessageboards.com/ I think this URL will go back to the one the current forum is on after the upgrade occurs. The first time you login will be a "global login" where you enter your e-mail address. You should only have to do this once, then it should go back to normal. But, this may change. If it does I'll update. Anyway, if anyone has any issues just post them and I'll try to help. This is new to me too, and I'm just going off what Proboards is saying, so it would be cool to get any issues there may be out of the way. Thanks. Oh, I forgot. Don't post anything there, it's just a test forum and will be deleted. I mean, if you want to check out how new stuff will work, go for it. Just don't post anything you want to stay around there.

Word is Jan.28 will be the date of the switch. Proboards is having a contest of sorts that could get us there a little earlier than that, but this is right around when it should happen. It remains to be seen if I can keep any of the work I've done there, like the themes or the plugins that I've added. I hope so, but it won't kill me to do it all again.
Anyway, there it is. I'd still feel better if everyone would make sure they can sign in there before the switch happens, if you haven't yet. Thanks.

Looking good Endo! I need to try and get my head around all this v5 stuff now, been putting it off.

Thanks!! It's really much easier to work with once you get used to it. Getting all of the things I have coding for here working in V5 will take a little longer, but it'll get there. I'm far from an expert, but if you have any questions working with yours, I'll try to help you as much as I can.

Well, looks like we've been converted to version 5 successfully. Easy enough, still some things to tweak...but not too bad at all. Scott, we may have lost your banner at the top of the forum, I can't seem to get that working. I'll keep trying.

Excellent!A lot of people seem to be having issues with banners, so hopefully you get this sorted out Endo. So when it converts are Proboards automatically copying everything you did on the test board? One way or another the forum is looking good.

Thanks. I made sure to export my theme to my PC, a few times just in case, lol. It actually copied the forum, not the beta version, which is why I was making sure to export the themes I had made on the beta version.
It went very smooth, and after the conversion I just had to add minor things back to the headers and footers, then import the themes and done. Very easy and I have to give props to Proboards. They really made it a painless experience.

I don't want to upgrade my account. What is this BS?

It's not a big deal. It's part of ProBoards trying to minimize having to log out and log back in for people with multiple forums/accounts. Also is supposed to make your account more secure. I don't think it's any easier, but I don't run ProBoards.
Here's a video from ProBoards explaining the new log in system.

Bothers me I have to do it. I did it, as you can see, but it bothers me to do so. But it's done.
