Saw this today, and it isn't necessarily a horror movie, but it's definitely psychologically disturbing. Great roles by both Bette Davis and Joan Crawford as sisters who grew up in and around show business. Davis plays alcoholic former child star, Baby Jane Hudson, and Crawford is her crippled sister whose injury ended her run as the biggest actress in Hollywood years later. Davis is perfect as the jealous, bitter younger sibling who now has to care for her paralyzed sister. And Crawford is great as the tormented older sister who begins to fear for her life. Really good movie if you've never seen it, and even a good twist that I never saw coming the first time I watched it.

It's really good. You start out feeling really bad for Blanche, Joan Crawford's character. But you end up just feeling really bad for both sisters. Got five Academy Award nominations too. Well worth a watch. It seems to be on TCM pretty frequently.

i LOVE THIS FILM!!! It's the best of the Bette Davis sixties horrors, though I enjoy "Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte" as well. I think what makes it extra special is the infamous Davis- Crawford rivalry.

The fact that they couldn't stand each other during the filming of this one does add to it's charm, lol.

If you thought this film was horrific in B&W... I found this in a Film Noir book and genuinely got a fright!

Classic movie! IDK if this is true, but I was told that Joan Crawford turned down the role of Baby Jane because it called for her to look ugly and she was way too vain. Bette, who wasn't jazzed about looking like a crazy old washed up has-been either decided to show her rival up and play the hell out of the part which she did. She completely stole the show and received an Academy Award nomination for best Actress in a leading role - must have killed Crawford who wasn't nominated.

I believe that. They said before the movie that Crawford had the director put a dummy in scenes where Davis was supposed to get physical with her because she thought Davis would legit beat her up. This was the only movie the two ever worked on together and a lot of folks at the time thought it would help them bury the hatchet and become friends. No such luck, this only added fuel to the fire. I think it's their dislike for one another that makes it so good.

^ I'll bet you're right about that - their rivalry in real life brought out the best/worst in each other and motivated them to turn in incredible performances.
One of many great scenes...

The behind the scenes of this movie is way more terrifying than the movie ever becomes. Check out FX's Feud: Bette and Joan sometime. They absolutely hated each other. Joan Crawford went as far as ruining Bette Davis's chances of winning the Oscar for her portrayal of Baby Jane.
One of my favorite movie lines is from this movie:
