A US Army Sergeant that killed 16 Afghan civilians while stationed in Afghanistan will take a plea bargain, admitting to the killings, and be spared the death penalty. This could result in severe repercussions from the people of Afghanistan, where US troops are still stationed. linkI'm not one to get into political arguments or even discussions, but I don't care where you're from...killing 16 innocent people who had nothing to do with why you were even in their country is horrible. There is no excuse for it. I understand the families of the people slain being angry, and I understand wanting to retaliate. I can only hope the justice system has it right. Why he was able to plea bargain at all after killing 16 innocent people is beyond me, but I'm not a lawyer.

He won't escape death long if they put him anywhere not solitary.

It will also be less human that way.

Yeah, it won't be pretty at all that way. It's just these people there, one guy had his whole family killed by this guy, they feel like no justice is being given to them because he's from the US and was tried in the US. And I have to say I kind of agree with them.
He broke the laws of the US Army on foreign soil. Maybe they should have turned him over to them and let them give him a trial. I wonder if he would have been shot or hung? Or stoned?
But, couldn't have done that...too many Americans would have gotten mad. Never mind the people he killed for nothing. Messed up ish it is. he'll get life and eat well and have free health and dental in jail while people like us foot the bill. That's not justice at all. Rant over.
