Not much news yet on this, but sounds interesting. Co-writer Todd Farmer had this to say about approaching the script: "We didn’t get on board for Hellraiser to remake Clive’s movie. That movie is so unique and tells such a personal story so we don’t really see the need to remake it. Our plans are to take the mythology and set it in a modernized world that makes sense in context with the original. It’s not a remake and it’s not a reboot - it’s something else entirely. But we are definitely planning for our Hellraiser to be very R-rated so fans shouldn’t be worried there." www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/hellraiserMore info on this here: moviesblog.mtv.com/2011/05/25/hellraiser-drive-angry-patrick-lussier-todd-farmer/

hmmmmm you all kow how I feel about remakes. I hope they dont go there. if they are nt going to make a remake of the actual film itself then really they are making a film entirely, therefore dont need to use the hellraiser concept at all, in any way, shape all form. leave it alone!

I thought My Bloody Valentine 3D was fun. Not a great movie, but enjoyable.
I'm going to go ahead and give this remake, reboot or whatever it is a shot. Clive Barker is helping produce it and they want to make sure it's rated R and true to it's roots, so I have some hope for it.

Only of course if they use practical effects. If they use CGI I will be a very angry man.

CGI is just the way now I'm sure some make up will be used but the computer is cheap and easy I'm still gonna watch it... Off topic I saw a box set of hellraiser that was designed like the cube it was cool but it only had two movies in it "dvd" and one bluray it was 30 something dollars had to pass

Where'd you see that Tony? The only one I found in a set was the ones that are in the Necronomicon.

So you get a DVD and Blu-ray of the first one and a DVD of part 2? That's got to be one of the dumbest ideas for a box set I've ever heard.

1 and 2 are the only Hellraiser films worth owning anyway.
Still kinda hyped for this new one. What I'm wondering is who is going to be the new Pinhead. Also, will they bring back the Twins, Chatterer and Cutthroat?
