"The series is based on the Robert Rodriguez film of the same name that was originally released in 1996. That movie featured Quentin Tarantino and George Clooney as the Gecko brothers, a pair of psychotic bank robbers who kidnap a family after their latest robbery. When the group takes a detour to a brothel in Mexico, they soon learn that the establishment is run by vampires.
How that’ll translate to a television series remains to be seen, but Robert Rodriguez has promised that the series will expand upon the history of the characters. For instance, we’ll get to see what the Gecko brothers were up to before we saw them in the film."
No artwork for the series yet but here's a trailer...

I don't know how well this is going to do being on TV. Seems like a bad idea to turn into a show.

Just from what I've seen so far I doubt I'd watch it, just doesn't seem like it would grab me.

So I watched the first episode. It was... I don't know. The first episode was a re-imagining of the shootout in the liquor store. They heavily expanded on it and completely added a third person. Plus the girls lived.
Richie Gecko is not just a psycho, he's a psycho who's being haunted by Satanico Pandemonium. It wasn't bad, but it steps away from what we know, sort of like a DC Elseworlds or a Marvel's What If... for the story. I'm gonna continue watching it, of course. But I'm wary.
They say ish in it, though. So... dunno if the rest of the El Rey network is censored or not. Gonna put Reservoir Dogs on demand on and see if that's butchered or not.
Okay, so Tarantino is cursing up a storm and it's all there. Now I got some movies to watch on demand. They have 3 of Chiba's Street Fighter on it, and every Friday night they have Grindhouse movie nights. This could be awesome.
Not so awesome, they blur out the nudity. Damn. What a waste.

We don't have the El Rey network here. Don't know where the Dusk til Dawn show is aired here if at all. I'll have to check the guide and see if I can find it.

Since Rodriguez is directly involved (slight pun intended), I'm going to continue to give it a watch. But overall I'll be passing on the channel as a whole unless there is really a movie I want to see bad, censoring or not.

I'll probably download this and give it a watch just to see what the jazz is all about.

Watched the pilot last night on Netflix. It was alright. I'll watch a couple more ep's before I actually judge it.

Well, that didn't take long.

I'm willing to give different looks at things a try, but this is too much. I love the movie too much it seems, and this strays too for from the source material.
Oh well, one less thing to watch.

I had a feeling this one would be a waste of time. Sometimes straying from the source material can be a good thing, but with something like this, there was no way. Why they didn't just go with a different set of characters is beyond me.

From the trailer I was thinking the same thing, might hold me for an episode or two but I'm so used to the movie it just wouldn't work in the long run. Well, you gave it a shot which is more than I'll probably do.

It's disappointing. They got some great actors in this, but it's a no go for me, man. Just not jiving with what I want.
